  1. I am still rooting for him. I don’t know if he should be starting but he should continue to be a regular rotation guy. If for no other reason but to see if he can put it back together before the trade deadline. Never wanted to say this, but if he really can’t, maybe we can get something in return for him.

But we have to keep in mind that injuries happen and we need all the three point shooting we can get (even if it’s just the threat of shooting). Seth is older and injury prone. No guarantee that Kyrie will play a majority of games. Patty is equally hot/cold and more of a defensive liability. Royce and Sumner are shooting well above his career 3 pt % and will eventually come back down to earth. Hopefully Yuta keeps doing what he’s doing. I wouldn’t depend on Cam to make a consistent shot, either.

Overall, cleaning up the boards is a bigger issue. We were losing the battle with Claxton, Ben, KD, and Morris on the court to guys like Harrell (6’7”), Tobias (6’7”), Naz Reid (6’10”), Niang (6’7”), Paul Reed (6’9”), and PJ Tucker (6’5”). It’s not like they were towering over us. That’s entirely motivation and intensity. It’s only going to get better if our guys want it. Yuta definitely helps out if he were playing (honestly feel like we would have won with his hustle). Maybe trying out guys like Sharpe and Edwards for short spells would be beneficial.

Anyway. Early in the season still. Now is the time to figure out what works and doesn’t work.

  2. Joe is currently 35.7 % from 3.. which isn’t terrible but it’s bad for Joey standards. The reason why the Nets gave him the big contract was because his career average is 43.6 %. Plenty of games and time for him to turn around this season’s average.

I must say though, that a part of me dies inside when he misses literal wide open 3s.
