Jannik Hansen says he sees a Canucks team playing for personal gain over team success

  1. Isn’t that the issue with the culture with this group of players. Solutions: maybe they need to sort out the mentality and psyche of some of the players, get the right guys in there.

So glad there’s world cup to watch 🙂

  2. I agree completely with Jannik.

It’s the most evident when you look at our forwards and their line changes. When they give up the puck, they go off on a lazy change and don’t always bother with a hard back check.

Our defensemen have been bad, but they’ve been left out to dry by our forwards so much that it’s appalling. I’m not surprised that Schenn lashed out at JT Miller a couple of times (that we’ve seen).

Last game there was a blatant example of our forwards blowing the zone, trying to cheat and pile up points without us gaining control of the puck. The result was Vegas getting the puck and having a 4 on 2 in our own zone.

I am not surprised that we are putting up tons of points but losing games. That’s what playing for individual stats (better contracts) will result in.

  3. Jannik is always straight to the point and doesn’t hold back. Ugh our teams such a mess it’s a joke

  4. Who cares at this point?

Let our assets pump their numbers up, so we can flip them at the deadline. This team isn’t good enough to see any actual “team success”.

  5. Miller is the most obvious one, but to me it’s more troubling if he’s seeing that in Bo. Your captain should be setting the culture for the rest of your team to follow

  6. I heard from a friend of a friend of someone who knows a trainer with the Canucks that the locker room is really cliquey and not everyone gets along.

  7. Why wouldn’t you, though? This team obviously isn’t working together, for whatever reason, may as well try to make yourself look desirable to a better team or line yourself up for a better contract.

Who knows what’s going on in that locker room but they obviously don’t care about one another, it’s evident from the effort they make to play as a team. There’s no effort.

  8. Yep. It’s pretty evident too when you see guys making risky dumb plays in the offensive zone when they’re up by multiple goals. Just stat padding instead of playing for wins.

  9. The only reason I’m still following the Canucks this season, is to see if they will make moves to kickstart the rebuild or if they will continue to make stupid retool changes.

  10. Hansen is low key one of the best ex-player interviews there is. Open, honest (at times too honest), fair and isn’t a shill.

    Love it.
