[Raanan] This is the view from behind Daniel Jones on failed fourth-and-1. Clearly there’s a window to throw between but it seems to be a play he usually makes. Jones generally a pretty accurate passer. Uncharacteristically missed few vs. Cowboys. Also still a pass Saquon should catch

  1. Thank you Raanan for giving us the angle that perfectly shows the ball wasn’t close to being deflected

  2. That was still a catchable ball. Can’t give Barkley the benefit of the doubt because he’s dropped a lot of easy balls this season too

  3. I got whamboozled by the other slow mo angle! Not his best game yesterday for sure, still has a pretty big opportunity to play his way into a new contract here over the final 6 weeks

  4. It was a close miss for Daniel but the ball does need to be out in front towards the sidelines on that throw. I don’t put total blame on DJ for the throw itself because the defenders arm was in the trajectory.

It’s on both though because the ball did hit Barkley’s hands however even a catch would have left him short since he was running away and had to catch back behind where he had just vacated and would have made a falling catch.

Out front the ball can be caught in stride and it’s not an unnatural movement to attempt it. With that it was still better than previous seasons where those throws would be off target and late. Jones’ timing has been much improved this year with less hesitation and ball patting.

  5. I’m sorry but Saquon should’ve caught that no matter what excuses we want to make. That play was the beginning of the end of that game for us

  6. It was literally a tipped pass – someone already posted the replay

If you’re going to talk shit Ranaan at least watch the fucking play.

Demarcus Lawrence got a hand on it

And despite that it was an entirely catchable ball

4th down in a critical situation ball hits you in the hands you lock the fuck on to it

  7. DJ could’ve just lofted that ball out in front of Barkley and let him run into it there was nobody towards the sideline and would’ve negated the two defenders in his throwing lane. Easier said than done of course but that’s a huge play in the game.

  8. The sadder part about this video is how the oline failed so miserably on the left side. If they held, Slayton would’ve been wide open in the middle of the field.

  9. Really don’t get how you miss that throw as an NFL QB, he’s got the whole sideline to work with and manages to throw behind him 🥴

  10. I didn’t like the formation. It didn’t look right. We are a running team. It should of been a Barkley dive or Jones on a keeper.

  11. That defender jumped, had he thrown it where Saquon could catch it at his chest it would have likely been tipped or intercepted by the defender.

  12. You don’t go for it on 4th and 1 in on your own 40 down 1 score down with 3 mins left in the 3rd.

That’s some stuff you would see playing madden .

  13. I get it was a critical play, but the fact that we need to play ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY to win shows you where we are right now. We have zero margin for error. Flip to the other side, and Dak throws two bad picks and they still win. I think this is causing our fan base to be overly critical in some regards – like what’s happening with the dissection of this play. It wasn’t executed perfectly, but if we need to play mistake free football to win, I think we need to reevaluate our expectations.

  14. Why the fuck was Barkley wearing a tinted eye shield visor during an indoor night game?

  15. I could be wrong be that was the third time he made that type of throw that game and each time it was off. Twice to James and once to Barkley. The one completion was by James on a really good catch.

  16. We lost to a team that is better right now. Ya’ll are trying to analyze too much. A fully healthy Giants and this is a different discussion. But right now we are depleted.

  17. Love how this post says that Jones missed when there was a passing lane open, yet every comment is criticizing Saquon.
