If sucks for the players but until Snyder is fully removed then bad attendance will be the norm. Yes I know he’s the one writing their checks and they won’t ever pressure Snyder but I’m tired of us fans getting blamed or made fun of when we’ve been with this team for all 23 years of Snyder and we still get treated like we’re a terrible fanbase. She’s not wrong, the Browns and Jets and Lions fans support their team thru much worse seasons, and Colts and Raiders fan support their teams despite having absolutely insane ownership.
You won’t catch me defending Dan, but I can’t blame the players for wanting some support. Especially when we’ve knocked off 5 wins in 6 weeks and are a horrible call away from possibly 6 straight. Ultimately I root for them, the colors, and city of DC and area of DMV, more than the owner.
She has every right to her opinion. That being said, I’ve been a fan of this team since the mid 80s and know what this area was like when this organization was one of the pillars of the league. I have seen the decline of this franchise play out in real time, day after day, month after month, year after year and even decade after decade. It has NEVER been about the players. it is about the sheer arrogance and incompetence that permeates from the top. Under this ownership we have lost our winning tradition, our franchises name, our franchises logo, and our fan identity. All the while having to deal with an almost daily assault of incompetent decisions and reprehensible behavior from the people in charge. So yeah, we are also entitled to our opinions even if you agree with them or not. So FUCK the shitty new uniforms, FUCK the stupid fucking name that nobody wanted, FUCK the under qualified team president, and FUCK THE SNYDERS, especially you DANNY BOY, you insufferable little twat. FUCK DAN SNYDER AND HTTR
She’s not wrong, but her perspective is one of many. The players do deserve a fan base that fully behind them. They’ve more than played well enough not to have a stadium filled with opposing fans. They’ve battled back from a rough start to be in playoff contention, and even knocked out the leagues only undefeated team. They’re doing their part.
The problem is that the issues here aren’t just bad play, though that is an issue for much of the last two decades and change. The problem is people are tired of the owner. We’re tired of having to look past all the awful shit he does to cheer for a mostly awful team. We want him gone. We want to love this team again, and we’ll work on that as soon as Dan Snyder fucks off.
So I don’t blame her for feeling as she does. It would be weird if she felt any other way. I also understand the fans. The sooner Dan sells the team, the better for everyone involved.
I don’t think her chastising the fans that have stuck around is going to help her in her quest to get more fans. Interesting decision
