The point is that people in the future might look back at Jimmy’s stats **without** all the context that we are all too familiar with and think he deserves HoF based on W/L record + passing efficiency stats.

Jimmy G. is just good enough to break your heart. He has missed big passes in big games at big moments….like in the Super Bowl 4th quarter when he missed to open receivers. Hitting either one would have clinched the game. Last year’s Rams NFC title game 4th quarter was another example. Thats why I am only cautiously optimistic. At any moment, especially important ones, Jimmy can turn in to Colin Kapernik and make a play so dumb you wonder if he ever played football before. The answer to this question is injuries keeping him off the field. That’s a double edged sword that cuts both ways. He’s had less of an opportunity to achieve, but he’s also had less of an opportunity to stumble.
That said it is super friggin exciting to finally have all the weapons healthy and on the field for him so he can show off an ability to patiently read the field and the state of all those options and make the decision about where the ball goes. He was excellent at that against Arizona and it created such a savage monster of an offense that it broke their will to play the game. If he is able to consistently put together performances like that with this group healthy enough for him to do it, it will change some minds.

He’s been the Qb for 6 years. We know who he is. When the team is winning and the defense is lights out, you can win. If the defense isn’t, you’re not going to win down 14 in the 4th quarter.(Atlanta game). Enjoy him while he’s here bc he’s not going to be a 49er next year. He’s got a no franchise tag clause and the 49ers won’t be able to pay him a huge contract with the Bosa deal looming. Unless he takes way less money. But we’ll see playoff Jimmy again before that.
