I’m honestly worried about what will happen to this sub. I’m not even sure if it would be worse for him to sign with Houston or St Louis.

The Astros certainly can use him more than the Cubs. Cubs are just loaded.
What reason do they have to not resign one of the best all around catchers in the league? Genuinely curious.

I’ve always liked Contreras, and I hate to see him go. But I was a Cubs fan before him and I will be a Cubs fan after him. He’s a 30yr old catcher who has been in MLB for 7 years. He basically hits 20 doubles 20hr and 55rbi a year and has a career .255avg. These are offensive stats only. They are good, but not great or legendary. I hated to see Rizzo, Baez and Bryant leave too. I hated to see Mark Grace and Sammy Sosa leave. I hated to see Ryan Theriot and Mickey Morandini leave. But I’m still a Cubs fan.
