  3. Don’t know what more this guy has to do to get called up. Just give the man a chance on the NHL roster.

  5. I remember when “always earned, never given” was the team motto. Obviously not the case anymore. We give washed up players like Rooney 1.5 mil and bury home grown talent doing everything they can to earn a spot.

  9. After he is eventually called up Phillips’ would have to clear waivers to be re-assigned to the AHL, correct? I was surprised he cleared waivers in October. Assuming he doesn’t completely shit the bed, once he’s up, he’s up. That and the cap space ramifications must be playing into this. Looking at CapFriendly today the Flames have $1.7M of space, on pace for $5.5M. Treliving must be saving some wiggle room for late season moves / injury management.
