Lions DVOA numbers for the entire season thus far:
13th overall (!!!) 9th on offense (12th in passing, 10th in rushing) 19th on defense (17th in passing, 25th in rushing)

SIXTH OVERALL 10TH ON OFFENSE SIXTH ON DEFENSE (!!!!!!!!!)

If we have bad defense from here on out then the history books will never forgive you.
But shoutout to AG.
So our schedule gets easier and the defense plays a bit better because our opponents aren’t as good as the first half of the year and now any criticism of the team or coaches should be apologized for? lol some of you are so easily triggered
He really led a defense that held the jaguars to 14 points. Trevor had been phenomenal this past few weeks and Glenn really limit the jags offense who aren’t bums
I’m sorry Aaron Glenn. I apologize whole heartedly. Aubrey was your chink in the armor.
No please, the last time one of these was posted it was for Jared Goff and the worst game of his season followed

Yeah I’m not gonna apologize for criticizing what was at the time statistically one of the worst defenses in the history of the league. Glad they’re getting it figured out but cmon guys lol

So is the point of these posts to shame people into never speaking honestly about their team? Because that’s what it looks like.
If I called him a piece of shit, I’d apologize. But I didn’t. I’m not apologizing for expressing my frustration with the leagues worst defense ever in the 1st 6 weeks.
At the time I was expressing that frustration, I never once said that he couldn’t turn it around or he’s a horrible coach.
You guys need to find a second hobby, you obsess wayyyy too much over white knighting for football coaches. Are you afraid that if you ever say someone “did a bad job that day,” that they won’t love you anymore??

I don’t blame the fans. We’re not used to an NFL season being 17 games long, we’re usually done after 8.
The defense was awful. Im not apologizing. Its a miracle only pleasant was fired.
Does anyone have the blitz rate for this time period? Sure feels like we aren’t blitzing as much as the first 8 weeks. Perhaps that’s because we got a lot healthier on DL and in the secondary but also a realization that the zero blitzes were absolutely killing us.
Glad the defense is playing better but they got bailed so many times yesterday. So many dropped passes and missed throws to wide open receivers.
Look at this year’s defensive roster vs. last year’s.
The only people who were on last year’s roster that are on this year’s are:
* Anzalone * McNeil * Harris
(Does Harris count?)
It took some time for the rookies and new folks to get integrated, but things are looking up. Now let’s add in some high draft picks to the DL/CB/LB and get Walker back.
Since firing Aubrey Pleasant we have been MUCH better and everybody thought it was a scapegoat
