Should The Sabres Stay Patient With Casey Mittlestadt?

  1. I think they’ve been patient enough. I like Mitts but he just doesn’t have it in any facet of his game

  2. Personally, I think we as a fanbase need to realign with what Mitts is. As a top 10 draft pick, has he/will he live up to the draft position by being a top 6 playmaking center? Probably Not.

    Can he be an effective 3rd line center? I think that is in the cards. He is a smart player, and has really improved his defense and forechecking this year. I would really love to see him get some minutes without Olofsson. I think that Olofsson is a black hole at 5v5 with literally anyone they play him with, and Mitts has been stuck with him for most of the year. What would a 3rd line of Krebs-Mitts-Asplund look like?

    How many times this year have we seen Mitts do the dirty work in the corner of the oZone, and pass it to the middle of the ice only to find no Sabre there?

  3. We need quality guys for the third and fourth lines.
    He’s good, not great.
    Which is fine.
