It’s pretty safe to say that Cincinnati has the Chiefs number. There’s still time to grab the one seed, but there are tweaks that need to be made on both sides of the ball

  1. I think we beat ourselves more than they “have our number”. We were literally up 7 marching down the field before Kelce fumbled.

  2. Tackling. Orlando Brown Jr not being a turnstile. Andy Reid trusting the best player in football not the FG kicker. Running the ball. Tackling.

Few things that come to mind.

    Tackling.

  3. The Bengals are built perfectly to beat the Chiefs. Their strengths exploit every weakness of the Chiefs and their weaknesses align perfectly with the Chiefs weaknesses so they aren’t a problem.

The Bengals biggest weakness is the OL and it doesn’t matter because of the Chiefs inability to generate pass rush. Their biggest strength is their receiving core and it exploits the Chiefs coverage schemes. And they have a top tier edge rusher who can exploit weak tackles.

And even with all that all 3 games were decided by 3 points. The Bengals own the matchup but it’s not a dominant thing. The Chiefs can beat this team but it’s up to them to be locked in. They weren’t this past game. Can’t afford that moving forward.

  4. The fact that they keep going to that cover 8 defense and we don’t keep running the ball late in the game is absolutely bonkers. All 3 games they switch to cover 8 in late game scenarios and our run game just gashes them. But we just stop running.

We shouldn’t have needed Mahomes for that 4th down because we should’ve just ran the ball 3 more times, as we were doing that entire series beforehand.

At least with the 2 high look that was all Mahomes adjusting. But Mahomes cannot adjust to cover 8 because it’s impossible when you only have max 5 recievers down field. The coaches *need* to recognize this and call plays that break it.

  5. While it does suck we lost 3 times to them, every game was by 3 points and crazy close.

For example, Kelce doesn’t fumble and we win this last one.

They are a good team and this is how good games go sometimes.

  6. I think Sam McDowell put it best on Soren’s show.

For some reason there’s one huge factor that’s different for the Chiefs compared to every other team that faces them. It’s that other teams are able to get to Joe Burrow and the Chiefs are not. Across the whole league their O-line is just thought of as meh except when the Chiefs play them.

From what I hear their Tackles are not that good and that just doesn’t play with with the Chiefs since their best passrusher is on the inside in Chris. Simply need good pass rushing DE play to beat them currently.

  7. God dammit, Butker’s ability to nail 55+ is the reason I told my gf, if the bengals don’t kick and go for it on 4th down they lose. Well they didn’t kick, Dunlap with the monster play. It’s all set up, chiefs win by 3, a tale as old as time. But fkn Butker misses!? Oh man, moments like that are why I’m glad MO doesn’t have sports betting.

  8. The Chiefs have the MOST EXPENSIVE DL in football!!! Where is the return on investment! Our OL is #7 for cost!

  9. Did anyone notice how they were containing Chris Jones? I was watching and it looked like two middle o line guys stuffed him every play. Also frank Clark has absolutely zero torque and acceleration when he rushes. Dude always is spinning around too.

  10. We get Hardman and Toney back and we score basically every drive. Even with the tackle issues

  11. These games are pretty even, up until the final drives. That’s where it really gets won and lost. All 3 games. The bengals win because they KNOW KC is gonna ditch the run and put it all on Mahomes at the end. Which obviously the bengals are already prepared for and just kick the shit out of our O line. It’s in Big Red’s DNA. He physically cannot help it. Yeah, I get the whole ‘put it in the best NFL player’s hands’ thing, but guess what? You still gotta use some strategy there. Especially when it’s still 3:00 on the clock and you gotta burn it too. If the defense knows that’s what your gonna do, then you’re just making it unnecessarily difficult on yourself. Reid’s main coaching weakness has ALWAYS been late game clock management. I’m finished expecting that to ever change. It happened all through the Smith years, and still to this day.

  12. I can’t wait until the bengals have to pay Burrow they’re gonna fall off a cliff

  13. Honestly I’m sick of seeing this type of thing so I want to throw in my thoughts.

There are very little “tweaks” that need to be made. Other than small thing that are going to be unavoidable at certain times, such as leaving Watson 1v1 vs Chase.

The players need to play better. It’s honestly that simple.

They’re getting pressure on Pat while rushing 3-4 guys. We struggle to get pressure while rushing 5-6. We missed an absolutely obscene amount of tackles. They didn’t. We turned the ball over. They didn’t.

What tweaks can our coaching staff make to fix that sort of thing? Spags can’t make our defense tackle better. He can’t single handily create a pass rush. Reid can’t force Wylie or Brown to block better. Reid can’t force Kelce to not fumble. Spags can’t call a play to guarantee a turnover from our defense.

Seriously, what does this sub want our coaching staff to do?

  14. Yeah.. that’s it. I’m sure fumbling the ball on a game clinching drive was not the cause at all… or the failed field goal… nope.. according to this garbage its the “Bengals” that beat us again.

  15. Two teams that the Chiefs have really struggled with are the Bengals and the Titans. No coincidence. They dare Reid to run the ball. Anyone that has paid attention to Reid prior to him being Chiefs coach would no he will never consistently run the ball.

My best friend is from Philly and they had pitchforks ready to run the guy out of town.

I dont believe that the Chiefs have a personal problem, I believe that the problem is thier unwillingness to TAKE WHAT TEAMS ARE GIVING THEM. Run the ball against lite boxes and check the freaking ball down.

Patrick at times (alot of times) Lock in on Kelsey and miss opportunities. We all get it, the guy is reliable. However when you become too predictable and unwilling to modify you become easier to handle even with great talent.
