[Nicholson-Smith] Conforto, a 29-year-old with a career OPS of .824, appears legitimately appealing to the Blue Jays even after a season lost to shoulder surgery… other left-handed hitting free agents worth watching include Michael Brantley, in whom they’ve expressed interest, and Kevin Kiermaier

  1. If Brantley can play some form of defense, I would love him joining this team

If he truly has to DH that makes the fit very tough

  2. Take every single comment previously mentioned on why not to take a flier on Bellinger because of his shoulder, then double it for Conforto.

Brantley would actually work on the notion of being a DH/bench bat but that’d be an awfully expensive bench bat. At least I’d hope nobody is considering putting him in the field anymore.

  3. Please no, if we replace Teo with Kevin Cuckmeier, Michael Connedforto or Old ass Brantley I will die. We will have gotten worse and less likeable at the same time.

  4. Conforto is probably the Best Buy low outfielder that was available so it makes sense. I’d still hope we aim higher as well

  5. Conforto is the kind of guy that’s basically a lottery ticket. If he works out than you’ve got one of the most productive hitters in the game. Brantley would be nice….2 years ago. Kiermaier is a no go for me.

  6. We should be aiming higher than reclamation projects. Nimmo or Benny have already proven they can start. Two declining players fresh off injuries don’t excite me.

I would hurt inside if we signed KK but honestly he’d be a decent 4th OF
