  1. Lmao no one will be going to games. Gotta love it. After 17 years of ownership and not a single playoff series win they really expect people to show up and watch a team with a budget less than what another teams spends on their starting rotation…

We’re currently in a standoff with ownership. Idgaf if you’ve got family in town. Go to a god damn minor league game. DO NOT ATTEND REDS GAMES THIS YEAR. When the team is competitive and there isn’t a raging pandemic, fans show up. It’s not a hard concept to grasp. Attendance was over 21k a game before the pandemic when we were borderline competitive. Its not even at 17k now.

  2. Well the Mets are spending $115MM on their rotation so that means we have another $40MM to work with right?????????

  3. Sell the team Bob, but the MLB is just killing itself without a salary floor/cap. I’m not spending my money to watch a farm team.

  4. I would love it if Krall would give massive contracts without Bob’s approval as a middle finger before resigning.

  5. I’ll post what I said in another thread:

    > The Castellinis turned me from a die-hard, go to several games each year (I live in NC, so I fly to Cincy, ATL, and Washington), watch 120+ games a year type fan into [basically fair weather] and I fucking hate them for it. Even the best fans have limits.

  6. Fans should just be thankful for how lucky they have been to be able to watch votto. Joey still bangs hahaha

  7. >That’s probably just going to make us worse if we’re just doing something and locking a guy up and saying ‘oh, we did this to appease you.’ (Krall quote)

So… that’s probably in response to Reds fans continually badgering them to lock up young players at below-market prices (“locking a guy up” to me implies they already have them under team control). That’s fucking *bonkers*. There’s quite literally 0 way almost any team can be a contender without locking up at least *some* of their young core.

  8. I get tired of this gripe. If you want to root for a team with a NY-sized or LA-sized payroll, what’s stopping you from switching fandom? You can even watch all of your new team’s games for cheap on MLB.TV.

This team is not going to spend more than it makes, no matter who owns it.

  9. Guess I won’t be going to a game this season either. Oh well. More money for my Bengals tickets.
