  1. Why is it that I only ever see the Oilers concede freak goals like the first Canuck goal? As soon as that went in I knew Canucks would win. Meanwhile the Canucks goalie is standing on his head at the other end. The lack of awareness of where the puck has gone is a major factor in at least 2, possibly 3 Canuck goals but it’s not all the goalie’s fault because some of that defending is inept & sometimes just lazy. Oilers can’t rely on their extraordinary forwards all the time.

  2. I called it when i watched the first game between both teams at the season's opener. I was not at all impressed with the Oilers. For a team that made the Conference Final the previous season, there was none of that form evident there to suggest this would be a blowout many expected. And sure enough, VC went 3 goals up and the Oilers needed McDavid and Campbell to bail them out. Now the story has come full circle, and without an in form goalie, the Oilers are a bang average team that has only McDavid carrying them on his back. If he ever leaves, they are GOOSED.

  3. Its amazing how big of losers canucks and flames fans are. Whenever we beat you there are no salty comments by oilers fans then you beat us and all you losers come out.

  4. Trade other people,

    Boeser
    Myers
    Shenn

You can't trade Horvat he is the heart and soul of the Canucks clear some cap space by trading other players and keep him long term

  5. wow, how did the canucks beat McDavid and Draisaitl? Easy, play as a team. It's getting hilarious watching the oilers play…it's like watching teen wolf…………pass the puck to the wolf (mcdavid) and just let him go…..every play. pretty simple to defend.

  6. Not sure why Oiler fans think their record will get any better in the second half the season. In the meantime Oiler fans keep telling themselves the Oil blow every December every year and they'll get going in 2023. The reason their record will plateau and will stay at 500 for the remainder of the 22/23 season is because they don't have the D core they had last year. Holland placed no urgency on trading up for better D this past summer and certainly not placing any urgency on improving his D today. Holland thinks he has all the time in the world looking for better deals come March. Given the healing time it takes for Kane's horrific injury, by the time Kane's back in the line up (I'm guessing late March), the Oiler's season will already be over. Oiler fans can thank Pat Maroon in part for derailing their season. The Oilers goaltending is just a smidge better than last year, but not good enough to steal games. The Oilers will most definitely miss the play offs if they keep the current D line up. Oiler fans also have a justified complaint pointing fingers at McDavid and Draisaitl for not yelling at Holland to improve the team. Oiler fans also have justified bone to pick with coach Woodcroft for putting JP on the top line constantly and giving Nurse minutes he clearly cannot cope with mentally which 100% accounts for the mental errors he makes multiple times a night. Nurse is good for 15 to 20 minutes a night to remain focused and effective. Anything beyond 20 minutes for Nurse becomes a liability for the team as Nurse and Woodcroft working together on Nurse's ice time has proven countless times Nurse is a major liability beyond 20 minutes a game. Woodcroft's rookie colors are shining bright as the Oilers inconsistency proves that Woodcroft may not in fact be ready to coach a $500M NHL franchise lead by 2 of the best players in the world . Who are also leading the NHL scoring race. To respectfully throw Woodcroft's words back in his face the NHL is also not a coaching development league. It's a coaching results league. From bad player contracts, to not improving the defensive core this past summer, to prematurely signing rookie coaches and rookie goalies to long term deals, to no urgency trades on the fly, missing waiver pick ups, everything going on with the Edmonton Oilers is all caused by Holland. Holland will go down as one of the worst GMs in Oiler history. The only thing Holland will be known for is the Kane deal and WCF run in 2021/2022. That's it. Absolutely ZERO reason to keep Holland employed with the Edmonton Oilers.

  7. Classic garbage from the Oilers. They light up one of the best goalies in the league a few nights ago and then can only manage to get 2 past Colin ffffing Delia….. Disgusting.

  8. And I thought the new Hawks announcer was irritating. "What a" seems his annoying catch-phrase.
Canuck fans. We had Delia in Chicago last year. Don't get used to this kind of performance.
