His season reminds me of the season Gretzky had 92 goals, they both just shot the puck more, McDavid is on pace for most shots in a season but last year he did start shooting much more and had his highest goal total. His quickness and moves are sick! When a player has his best goal season that is normally a season he shot the puck more, you can’t score if you pass up shots.
If only he had some support, literally on another level somehow.
What blows me away is Mcdavid’s more recent M.O. where he can cycle up to the blue line with the puck and cut through the middle with speed when the defenders are playing positional. He uses his speed and hands to exploit their lack of speed – and its almost routine now for him to slash through two or even 3 checks going to the net and score. Defenders become pylons.
What can a defender do? If you collapse a little too deep, he uses you a screen and shoots through your legs and beats the goalie that way. What new wrinkle will he bring to paralyze defenders?
If Kane hadn’t been injured, he may have any actually got even more points.

I know it's just how hockey is and great players earn their luck etc.
But there's a surprising percentage of just lucky bounces among these. But every goal isn't a highlight.
