  1. Davenport is talented, but injuries keep him off the field so much. It’s harder to establish a rhythm when you’re constantly out

  2. Trey Hendrickson is one of the best pass rushers in the league and the Saints made a massive mistake letting him walk. Don’t wanna hear the excuses. If we could make room for a fucking massive Deshaun Watson contract then we could have paid Trey. Another L for Loomis.

Oh, you talking about Davenport? He sucks.

  3. He (Davenport) certainly doesn’t suck. A bust? yes. He’s a very talented player who can’t stay healthy. And we overpaid for him in the draft. Which is all very frustrating. All it will take is a full year of him being healthy and he could lead the league in sacks. It probably will be on another team. That will suck.

  4. He had a down year this past season and still ranks number 4? That’s impressive. He’s better in the run game than Hendrickson as well. He’s good and he’ll get a prove it deal somewhere.

  5. For what we paid for him he sucks. Talented guy that can’t stay healthy, but his high pressure rate doesn’t translate to sacks often enough.

Guys taken where he was have to be able to finish the play to be worth what we paid.

  6. He’s always been a high pressure rate, low sack rate guy in the league. In the 2022 season he wasn’t getting the pressures either and ended up losing snaps to Granderson. Anyone who says he didn’t have potential or impact (when on the field) in his first few seasons isn’t being fair, but he definitely didn’t live up to his draft investment.

  7. I think we should probably take into consideration that we have a lot of medical related issues currently. His biggest issue is time on the field, not talent. This is the case for a lot of our roster.

  8. The biggest problem with this is that its counting five years. In that timeframe, even when healthy Davenport has ranged from fantastic all-around DE to getting benched.

Unfortunately, unless he stay healthy and get some consistency, he’s may be a perennial backup or even off the team soon.

Good to see Trey up there though. Guy is a great pass rusher, even if his run defense sucks.

  9. He is good at making pressure, but can’t seem to actually get to the QB. He’s not worth the two firsts that we paid for him though.

  10. Just another fucking worthless mistake by Loomis. They give away 2019 1st rd to move up to 14 to get this loser. He will be gone as can’t afford him.
When will they realize that Loomis needs to go as he allowed all this fuck’n dumb ass drafting fuck ups

  11. Davenport is a monster that hasn’t reached his full potential yet. Will he ever? Who knows but the skill and athleticism is there. He needs to get out of his own head though.

  12. No he doesn’t but always ask yourself, would drafting Lamar Jackson have been the better choice?

  13. he is very good just cant stay on the field. he is better by a mile against the run than the whole top of that list also. Trey is utterly sad stopping the run. the top of that list pass rushes every down if the runner comes their way so be it.

  14. You know how people will say pressure is more important than sacks when they want to sound smart? Yeah, just show them this list and ask them if Davenport belongs with these other names.

  15. He causes a lot of pressure but rarely finishes it off with a sack..also like others have said..hardly ever on the field

  16. Anyone who paid attention to the games could see Davenport, even in an overall lousy 2022, was really good at generating pressures he just struggled to finish the job.

Unfortunately for him you don’t get paid big bucks as an edge rusher to simply generate pressures. If he’s smart he’ll tear FA because someone is going to bet he can convert those pressures into sacks and pay for that potential. But he’s not worth it.

  17. Are they calculating that pressure rate before he suddenly drops off mid rush and can’t finish to get a QB sack? I swear every time I see him get behind the line and think OK sack incoming it’s a big NOPE. I see the same with Cam thinking ok Davenport will push the QB into Cam and NOPE the QB just steps up into the pocket since we don’t have a consistent interior lineman to get pressure up the middle.

Davenport might do really well on another team. But he is not a world-beater. And I don’t think he really influences errant throws. He is a bust for the picks we spent which was for a pure freak bull rusher opposite Cam. Paying him would be more reckless than letting Trey walk. Just because he might ball out elsewhere it’s clear he can’t here.

  18. My rule of thumb is that if you haven’t figured out if someone is good in 3 or 4 seasons, you should probably not keep them,
