  1. Fuck Doyle and Kravits and Dakitch too. Our Friendly Neighborhood Pineapple is here to stay.

Also, The Star and The Athletic need to get actual Pacers beat writers instead of pissed off Colts guys.

Length makes complete sense as his contract expires the offseason of the new TV deal. If the team is good, we’ll have a huge amount of cap space to try to sign a superstar that offseason.

  2. That’s a great deal for all sides. Shuts up trade rumors around him for this year too which is nice

  3. What an absolute steal. Maintains flexibility and keeps him here at a fair price. More smothered chicken in the works!

  4. So glad he signed, this man is only 26 and has grown before our eyes. 2.5 more years with coach Rick and Haliburton should be great for his game.

  5. This is a good signing for the Pacers and Turner. It’s a short commitment giving the Pacers flexibility, Turner gets to experience UFA in two years still during his prime, and Pacers no longer under the floor I think.

  6. From Shams:

Myles Turner and Pacers reach agreement to keep Turner under contract through 2024-25 season, salaries as followed, per sources:

    – $35 million this season ($18M salary plus $17M of Pacers’ salary space)
    – $20.9M in 2023-24
    – $19.9M in 2024-25

    Total: 2 additional years, $58M.

  7. Contract IS steep BUT unlike Ayton, it’s just a 2 year extension. Meaning, this is a flexible, moveable contract AND Myles has to keep working his ass off. I love it. Best of both worlds. And aligns to Tyrese extension for us to have options then. Threw 17 into this year and the rest is basically just 2 years 20 mil each??! Smart move. So smart.

  8. Incredible value for those last two years, regardless of what direction he or the team decides to take these are some amazing numbers

  9. I am very happy with this deal! Smothered chicken baby!

Now we can set a future direction and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a trade either in the next couple of weeks or this summer to start pushing next season.

  10. pretty good money for 2 years to reevaluate his worth and hopefully sign another deal in 25. dudes been having a really solid year

  11. All these years of Myles Turner apologism has been vindicated! I’m being rewarded because I believed!

  12. Holy shit that’s a great deal. Gonna look at the details a bit more but helps our salary floor this year + locks down part of the core for long enough to make more moves.

Good shit Myles, good shit KP, go us Indy

Edit – 21 then 20, add 17 on this year which is irrelevant, yeah that’s a great great deal. And he gets cheddar

  13. Love this deal! Really glad that we were able to work something out and excited to see how we can grow the roster with Hali/Myles/Mathurin locked in!

    For the team:

    * Retain a core piece to pair with Mathurin/Haliburton/2023 FRP.
    * Avoid the possibility of Myles leaving before we can truly develop the roster with him.
    * Short term, so provides flexibility if things don’t work out over the next couple of seasons.
    * Relatively cheap when you look at his annual cost the next 2 seasons.

    For Myles:

    * $60M over the next 2 seasons
    * Allows him to enter UFA in during his prime and chase another contract

    *In KP, We trust*

  14. So given this contract, is it safe to say Pacers are now in win now mode and will be looking to add a PF that can make the team a bonafide contender?

Or is this just Pacers rewarding Turner and shoring up the center position for a couple years, while they continue the rebuild?
