As much as I'm going to miss Horvat and didn't want him traded, we couldn't sign him so we got a reasonable return considering. And there's nothing preventing him from signing with us again sometime down the road. Could it be Trever Linden 2.0?
Two times now the Canucks have traded away a beloved captain during a dismal season and both times to the Islanders. Hope Raty works out here as well as Bertuzzi did when the Canucks acquired him for Trevor Linden back in '98.

Losing Raty was the worst part about this for me as an Isles fan. I would’ve rather not given him up. But if we did, for Meier. I’ll miss seeing him play in the AHL. Treat him well Vancouver. Same for Beau.

Both Raty and Beauvillier can play Center, so it's pretty good I guess.
Canucks couldn't sign Bo especially that Miller extension so might as well get something than nothing in the offseason.

I wish him success on the island. A new start should feel good even if it’s not exactly a top tier team.
I would have thought the Canucks would prioritize a high first round pick in the deal. This trade doesn’t really accomplish that.
