Man I don’t want Keenan to go, but if he does, they have to go WR in the first round
even if they keep keenan (which they’ll probably do), it’s likely only going to be for just one more year. next off-season, they can clear ~22 million in cap if they cut him before the last year of his contract. unless keenan is willing to sign a smaller deal, he’s going to be moving on.
with keenan being 31 next year at some point justin is going to get a different #1 WR. it’s just depends how long they want to delay the inevitable.
Need to keep him! Hopeful for a re-structure.
I’d rather keep KA13 but man are the chargers in a bad spot Cap wise.
WR is already a hole in the roster, you lose Keenan and it becomes a crater. Keep Keenan
This meme assumes we’d get decent draft capital in a trade. I’m not sure that happens.
It’s like Derek Carr: yes, you’d prefer to trade, but if he’s moving on anyway then it’s best for both the player and the org he *goes to* that he just gets cut first. It only benefits the org that currently has his rights to make a trade happen.
For this reason, I think Keenan remains a Charger next year.
I’m hoping it’s because Dean says fuck it once again like he did last offseason, and tells them to push the money down the road so they can sell-out now and get the talent in Herbert’s cheaper years.
… But I’m also stupid, so who knows.
Herbie needs keenan we saw that last year, 3rd downs aren’t the same without him and it showed
Sneaking in amongst the analysts here to say this was excellent meme execution
The cap situation is not that dire. Can easily free up some space by restructuring contracts. I think a speed WR should be drafted to pair WITH Keenan and Mike.
I think we all agree he’s a good WR just not a 20 million dollar one.
Keep him!
They gotta restructure him, right? What are we even building towards if we’re trading away the guy who helped build it?
Unless you get a 1st + … it ain’t worth it for a top tier WR…
Keep him. Don’t restructure. Take a wide receiver in the 1st or 2nd. Cut him or sign to a team friendly deal which both sides I would assume want next year.
If you can guarantee me we get a mid 3rd round pick for him… I’d find it hard to argue against taking that deal.
We free up $19M doing so, and we can also cut Feiler, Hopkins and Everett and save another ~$10M or so. Throw in a Bosa restructure and that gives us another boost. I love Keenan, iconic Chargers player, but if we can save all that money, gain a 3rd round selection and keep 2 out of Fox/Drue/Pipkins or possibly all 3… like I said hard to argue against that scenario. Assume we also draft a WR at 21, I know people say this is a weaker class but there’s some gems there.
It also doesn’t hurt to move on a year or two early from Keenan. Save the money, keep some other guys, prep for his eventual retirement and get started on Herbert’s next WR1 for the next 6-10 years.
One of the only players I have a deep emotional attachment to
Release him and I cry
I think we should move the cap space from next year to not next year.
Im worried Keenan goes to Vegas, with potentially, Aaron coming from green bay to reunite with devante. That would be scary.
We drafted Mike Williams at 7 and he didn’t have a great rookie year. 21 isn’t a great spot in a not so great wr class. Really wanna gamble with our luck?
Keep Keenan please
Keenan and a 2nd for Tee Higgins who says no
IMO we should push our cap hits to the future, going all-in on Herbert’s rookie deal means going ALL-IN on his rookie deal, so IMO we should push it one or two more years. The best option would be to simply extend Keenan and Mack so we can control their contracts right as they fall off.
Is there a better clutch third down receiver that we could get? No.
Hopefully after cutting Feiler, Hopkins, and restructuring KA and Bosa we can keep him and Tranquill.
If he does go just him and Feiler pretty much gets us down to the cap, Restructure Bosa still and hopefully Palmer steps up in a big way. A speedy WR would be great but that Mayer kid looks like a long time plus at TE.
Fuck whoever even started this conversation
I am team restructure Keenan and draft a WR round 1. Speed kills and we don’t have speed on our offense.
Keep him! Anchor of the passing game when healthy. Draft defense is the way I see it. Look at free agency for a speed option.
Only cut him if its making room DeAndre Hopkins.
We need Keenan. Unpopular opinion, trade Bosa.
Patrick>Peter.
Keenan is and always will be that guy. Palmer plus a day 2 or possibly a late day 1 pick this year should be fine.
Let’s see how 2023 ends up, because Keenan bleeds powder blue and I would never want to see him go until it’s obvious that the Chargers and him do not see eye to eye.
Yall wanna play Pandora’s Box when we already got Kennan? What y’all wanna spend this money on anyways?

It all depends what round we get
