I always think of it like this: If Braxton Jones had been drafted in the first round would we be as skeptical of the long term future at LT?
I feel like his 5th round slot creates a sort of mental block sometimes with fans as we’re expecting the other shoe to drop and for him to just flame out ala other 5th rounders like Larry Borom or Jordan Mills.
I think Jones is legit and it’s not a coincidence others are noticing him around the league. He’s extremely athletic and has a few things he needs to work on this offseason: bulking up and refining his technique (and working more on hand placement).

“Most reliable linebacker” is a bizarre category. Was this made by a Lions fan who wanted to shoehorn in Rodriguez?
Jones is a great value pick that I hope develops into a great tackle but he was not better than Cross or Lucas this year.

For Braxton, this year will be the tell long term what is there. Of will he become say an elite T to as low as a serviceable starter that long run will be a great backup.
Funny thing is I feel like Sanborn got totally robbed out of the undrafted award.
As an aside. If they can get out of their own shadow, Detroit is going to be freaking DANGEROUS. Two good defensive rookies, Jamieson Williams is going to be healthy next year and they get another top ten draft pick (that is the Rams) and their own first rounder.
If you gave Detroit’s roster with their upcoming draft and slapped green and yellow with a “G” on their helmet? People would be saying they’re a Super Bowl contender next year.
Braxton Jones and Dawand Jones would make a couple of nice bookends for our offensive line. I think we could just wear out the defense running the ball down their throats!

No one saw Brock Purdy having a season like this. Came in with no hype and just kept winning until the conference championship. I would be worried if I was Trey Lance, if he doesn’t shine quickly, they might move back to Purdy. Fans love him.
There were 8 offensive linemen taken in the first round and none of them played better than Braxton? He was okay, not stellar. If so, then this draft class was absolutely horrific for offensive linemen (at least in their first year)
