  1. I’m fine with spending the money to get Schultz. He seems like a perfect fit for the offense

  2. Foster Moreau would be my top pick. Should be affordable, can block and is serviceable as a receiver as well.

  3. I think you should be looking to spend a high pick on a TE in a great class of them. Haha

  4. I would agree with Moreau. Might be decent competition for him, however. Good speed, good blocker, would be a good fit, I think.

  5. I don’t love the idea of spending a bunch of money on Dalton Schultz, but it might be your best option. IMO he’s not all that athletically speaking and you should be able to come up with a guy like that for cheaper, but the advantage is that right out of the box he can come in and fill some key needs well. He can block your run game, and he’s great at finding an opening underneath in zone coverage which is pretty much free goddamned real estate for you. I wouldn’t be surprised if you plug Schultz right in and suddenly it’s a big catalyst for your offense.

I think beyond that, Austin Hooper + [Draft Pick] is a good option. Hooper is a good average starting TE who won’t break the bank and has experience in your scheme, and drafted Y TEs often don’t really contribute out of the gate.

  6. If he came cheap, I’d be interested in seeing what OJ Howard can do with our TE coach, since he apparently makes them all fantastic and OJ Howard has all the physical tools.

  7. I would like to see us pick up Moss. He can block and has good hands. Not as fast as his dad though.

  8. Do we really need a new TE? Keep Smythe and try to get *something * out of Long (this pick is still a bigger red flag for Grier than folks mention).

I’d rather see us spending $ elsewhere. TEs in our offense are mainly there to block.
