No kidding. In my mind he’s a big piece of the rebuild.
Dude I keep saying to my friends, I love this kid. Truly just hungry af , good vision
Best acquired trade asset so far in my opinion
This is an interesting situation, I wonder how Yzerman plans to handle our embarrassment of LD riches?
What we have: – Walman (obviously) – Edvinsson – Wally – Chiarot on a deal that makes him nearly immovable – Maata playing some excellent hockey
Is Maata the odd man out? Do we try to move him at the deadline? I’m sure he’d command a nice return.
I’d imagine Edvinsson makes the jump next year. Wally I’m not so sure of. No matter how you break it down, someone has to be moved.
Yzerman said it the day he traded for him that he had his eye on him for a while. No chance a deal doesn’t get done. And to be quite honest, I’d lock him up longggg term especially if it’s cheaper that way.
Thought I read Chariot can play the right side as well?
On the daily thread, folks are talking about trading him. I asked a simple ‘why’, and got downvoted. So…what’s the deal, Wings’ fans? I personally like Walman, his age, his cap hit, and I think he should stay for the foreseeable future.
The Seider Effect. Sometimes it takes a certain kind of player to play with a star. Crosby had Kunitz, who gelled with him. Seider has Walman.
Just bought his rookie card because I think he’s going to be a red wing fan favorite for a little while.

Why did we only sign him to 1 year 😢

There is an interesting [article on The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/4161995/2023/02/08/red-wings-nhl-trade-deadline-targets/) today that centers on this very thing. It also gave 5 targets for the Wings to trade for to hopefully pull off a similar heist.
Trent Frederic, Boston
Jack Drury, Carolina
Nathan Bastian, New Jersey
Sam Steel, Minnesota
Dylan Coghlan, Carolina
You’re welcome 🙁

Walman has been great and Sundqvist has also found a place in the lineup. The Blues have treated us well.
I still can’t get over how fast he is, and when he randomly dangles by guys at the blue line, sheeeesh
I said it last year but I would have taken Walman for Leddy 1 for 1. Add in Sunny and a second? What were they even doing lol
