Ben Johnson gets 11 first place votes behind Demeco Ryans as assistant coach of the year

Honestly it’s very close for me. I love defense and watching the run stop for SF was a work of art
I don’t get it- Ryan’s inherited a perenially good to great defense with incredible talent and did a great job keeping them on their trajectory. Johnson took a perenially poor to trash offense and had it number one in the nfl at points in the season where all the receivers weren’t injured. Also after trading away our top TE. I assume it all comes down to making the playoffs. Congrats to Ryans.
Both are amazing coaches. I would’ve liked to see Ben win but that San Francisco defense was nothing to mess with. No doubt if Johnson can repeat or improve on his success he will be a shoe in next year.
