  1. The tank is going at full force. Only thing I need this season is additional Bassey minutes, and seeing a healthy Vassell out there.

  2. I’m worried about that 14% bc things are not looking good without Wemby or *someone* to save us

  3. I mean some real positives honestly in this game. When Jeremy isn’t falling in love with the three, he really has looked pretty unstoppable the last month when deciding to attack the basket. Even some genuinely good defenders have struggled with him. He just looks too strong and too big for most wings, and too fast for most bigs. 18 points. 10 rebounds five assists in 20 minutes is damn Good work

Dominic Barlow is somehow maybe as raw as the extremely raw Blake Wesley. But he has some real fluidity and has shown little flashes here and there of some skill. Maybe bubbling under the surface. I like what they said at the beginning of the game about how pop acknowledged that he really wasn’t much of a basketball player and more of an athlete. Overtime elite is essentially a highlight factory for athletes more than an actual League and the guy really shows it. Extremely poor positioning, gets in his own player’s way on both ends, and doesn’t seem to understand how to box out. Out. But even then… He’s had some moments. The last couple of games. Will be a very interesting prospect to watch. If things can click for him mentally, he actually appears to have decent release on his jumper, pretty good passing ability, and he’s a big long freak athlete

I honestly love how Johnson has been playing recently. A lot of people on this sub really were starting to turn on him and I think he’s been absolutely tremendous. If his three-point shot stabilizes even just a bit, he’d be a genuine offensive force, though his defense really is starting to teeter on hopeless. He’s become genuinely unstoppable attacking the rim and is starting to get much better at knowing when to force a pass into space and went to reset from a driving kick. I thought he was really good today

He was hilariously quick triggered but devonte Graham is genuinely a ton of fun to watch. He’s so slithery and quick with the ball. I another one of those guys where you can’t help but feel bad for him that he wasn’t born just a few inches taller. Because then he could have been a genuine issue. I think he’s going to be a fun guy to watch this year and honestly I wouldn’t be shocked if the Spurs kept him around next year as kind of the heir apparent to Richardson as a spark plug off the bench who seems like a fun personality

With that said… Man, Isaiah Robbie. I don’t know what exactly has been going on with him, but the guy is one of the most confusing concoctions of a basketball player I’ve ever seen. Some games. He looks super athletic and bouncy. Other games. He looks so slow and uncoordinated. He’ll have moments of really high level basketball IQ. And then make some of the dumbest mistakes I’ve seen in a long time. It’s very concerning that on a team filled with 19-year-olds, he often looks like the guy who least understands the basics of basketball. I can’t imagine he has much of a place with the Spurs moving forward unless he really shows something the last month or so

Zach Collins was awesome the other night but he was really in over his head against the quick and athletic big men of the Hawks and really showed some of his limitations. The guy is just very undisciplined when it comes to boxing out and as I’ve mentioned before as good of a shot blocker, and surprisingly nimble, he is defensively. A very poor defender when it comes to positional understanding of where to be and how to close passing lanes and stay out of the way of his own teammates. He caused a lot of issues when he was on the court and as always he made a few poor decisions with fouling

Trey Jones… Roller coaster for him. From really poor start, to really solid play, two at one point looking like a guy who may be a heck of a lot better than we ever imagined… So now going on a couple of weeks of looking like a fringe NBA player… He was really really rough tonight. His defense against young was often embarrassing. I counted three times where he followed young to the rim, had him in position to contest a runner and then… Just didn’t put his hands up. Just fade it off. Gave young space and essentially allowed a wide open layup. I know he’s rusty but that’s just unexcusable, particularly for a guy who can’t shoot.

I thought Malachi honestly played pretty well. Just wasn’t having shots go down. Had some good looks and again continues to impress with his ability to run, plays and initiate. From the point of attack. He looks like more of a point guard than Wesley.

I thought Wesley was much better defensively in this one. He had a couple moments where he used his length to pretty adequately contest young and after his last few performances, that’s really all you can ask

All in all some of the young guys looked really good and we, like we typically are, we’re competitive until we had one tremendously terrible quarter. That’s about all you can ask for at this point. Improvement from the young players and three quarters of competitive basketball.

  4. Unpopular opinion tanking for draft picks is shit and pathetic. This is garbage to watch how can anyone in there right mind be ok with this. Knowing the spurs organisation they will draft all these young players and trade them all in a couple of years time and say we are rebuilding just for the cycle to continue.
