  1. I’m quickly growing tired of the third iteration of goalpost moving, which is now “Yes it was a penalty, yes he admitted it, but I wish they didn’t call it because it “*deprived us of a good ending!*”

There were 58 minutes of spectacular football before that. Letting the last two minutes ruin your day is loser mentality. And I’m sorry, but it’s a sport, not a soap opera. You are not owed a down-to-the-wire, last second drive for the win, especially if it can only happen off of an uncalled penalty.

  2. It is Bungals weirdo fans who are harping on this more than Eagles fans. Guess they are still bent over the AFC Championship game

  3. I hope we can just be finished with this type of shit. All the people bitching the hardest aren’t even Eagles fans. In fact, I figured there would be trouble in Philly and in the NFL sub, but the Eagles fan base is acting way classier than the Bengles fan base.

  4. I think a lot of Eagles fans know our defense and special teams played like garbage and you can’t win a SB like that. With a double digit lead it shouldn’t even came down to a flag to decide it, but our DC just didn’t make any adjustments. If the players are saying it’s not the refs fault, it’s not. I just wanted more out of the final 2 minutes of a crazy game

  5. The Goedert catch was clearly the right call. Stop lumping this in w/ everything else. It makes us looks dumber than we already are.

  6. This whole “yeah it was holding but they shouldn’t have called it” is stupid.

Like “yeah i murdered someone but their life was almost over” see how that works in real life.

NFL has rules, rules were broken, a flag was thrown. Get over it.

  7. When all the debates are finished, the Chiefs will still be Super Bowl Champions…nothing on the internet is going to change that

  8. I still can’t get over the middle 2 panels. The coverage was blown SO BADLY, there was 20+ yards separation from the receiver to next defender. TWICE! One of the highest praises for teams is adapting and quickly adjusting to new game plans that burn you, they absolutely did not. I bet we could have done it a 3rd time

  9. Most of us have accepted it and moved on. We’ve got a foundation to be good for a while and need to work on what went wrong (LOOKING AT YOU, SPECIAL TEAMS) It would be nice if the rest of the NFL’s fanbases would accept it and move on too.

The refs didn’t hand KC 13 unanswered points in the 2nd half, or a lack of defensive adjustment, or garbage ST play that has fucking sucked all year.

  10. I definitely wouldn’t say the refs cost the eagles the game. They made significant mistakes (including a fumble returned to a defensive touchdown) that cost them the game.

I just think it stinks that such a great game came down to a penalty call.

Either way there’s no telling what would have happened had the game went to overtime. It would be tough to say the chiefs didn’t have the advantage if the game ended up going to overtime.

  11. Losers complain about officials. Let them all continue to complain. We ain’t giving the trophy back.

  12. what annoys me the most is the “it was anti-climatic!” crowd because we drained the clock at the end to seal the win. maybe if the eagles didn’t run the play clock down to the last possible second every single play, they could have had actual time to run a few plays. just another big brain decision that cost them (also that their defense couldn’t stop shit).

  13. It’s a slippery slope for fans to argue by screenshotting instances of penalties not called or questionable rulings, because there are plenty of those to go around. It certainly is a step in the right direction for discovering the truth though. I don’t think that’s what people really want though, because if we really start doing that, then a whole lot of people would likely start seeing things a lot differently.

  14. Don’t forgot this stat: the team with the highest number of sacks in the regular season had 0 in the SB

  15. 2018 AFC Championship game: Dee Ford lines up offsides but has no impact on the play whatsoever. Gets flagged on a play that results in a game winning interception and the patriots go on the win the game.
Chiefs fans: Damnit Dee! Why did you line up offsides!

2023 Super Bowl: Juju moves inside and cuts back outside. Bradbury grabs Jujus jersey cause he knows he’s beat resulting in a holding penalty that sets up 1st down for the chiefs resulting in a game winning field goal.
NFL fans: Damnit ref, why did you throw the flag?

Moral of the story, when our future Super Bowl win was stripped away from us by a penalty, we blamed the player who committed it and not the ref who threw the flag.

  16. Eagles fan who ended up here from this post reaching /r/all – the overwhelming majority of us do not blame the refs/field/whatever for the lose.

Congrats on the win. They earned it.

  17. The eagles cost the eagles the game, just the game ending because of a penalty is disappointing for everyone I think.

  18. If they wanted to win, they should’ve scored more points. If you lose a game just because of one play, you don’t deserve to win.

  19. I just been pointing out if the refs really wanted to make the chiefs win they would’ve let Bolton get the 2nd def TD. But they called a clear catch back to keep the game close.

I don’t think they really care about rigging the winner they want the games (especially a SB) to be good for Vegas.

  20. It is wild that the ref narrative can be found on pretty much every nfl teams sub the last couple days. People really have jumped on the hate train. If people really think everything is fixed, why are they still watching?

  21. I think 95% of people that are upset are only upset that the ending of the game was so lame.

  22. I mostly see this from weirdo Cincinnati fans and the nihilists at r/NFL. Philadelphia fans are angry… *that their team gave up TD’s on every possession the Chiefs had in the second half.* That’s the sort of thing that would make a reasonable fan far more angry than an arguably sorta soft (but totally by the rules) holding penalty.

  23. I’m getting tired of these posts. I haven’t ventured to the Eagles sub or r/NFL because I don’t think it is necessary to increase my enjoyment of the game.

Many Eagles fans have come here. All of them have been very gracious and not butthurt at all. All their players were gracious. Great sports about the game. None of them cried about the game.

Lay the hell off the Eagles and their fans with this shit. We know exactly how it feels to lose a SB.

  24. What’s with all these posts. Who cares! We won. Move on. Ignore what everyone else saying, they aren’t champs

  25. The way I see it, the more times you get there, the more times you have for one to go your way. Odds are you’re not going to always be shit on by the refs. You stick around enough, and they will eventually see one your way. I just don’t see the bengos sticking around and they know it.

  26. These folks are new fans who saw the Chiefs Rams game and think all games should work out like that.
