While technically true this is a bit of a lie as well. He was getting cut if he didn’t sign a new contract and was never going to get paid what his number was this year. That has always been the case since he signed it.
We’ve never deserved this man.
Well I can stop mocking a RB to GB in the 2nd round.
Hell yeah Jonesy! I don’t care what the haters say, I’m glad he’ll be back in Green & Gold next year. 3️⃣3️⃣ 👨🏾🌾
Weird way to frame this that’s not very honest. He was going to get released if not, and he’s the second highest earning RB behind McCaffrey. So uh… he’s making exceptional money for an RB.
Awesome. I was never a proponent of letting him walk. Saves us an earlier draft pick probably, too.
A man that puts his money where his….heart is. And I love it. Glad he WANTS to be in GB.
So, now can we use him properly next year?
Hell yeah. Love this guy! Class act.
Class act by a good guy. Glad he is staying.
The other Aaron should be taking this approach as well
Is this enough? Clearing up 5 million dollars is great but they still have to come up with a ton of money.
new face of the franchise with Rodgers leaving
I love this guy
Damnit now I gotta get a signed jersey of his
It takes a lot to give away 5 million.
I’m not sure if there was a paycut per se’… Maybe a tiny bit? He was scheduled to make a little over $20M in 2023, now that number is down to $11M, plus $8M in signing bonus.
AARON JONES IS THE GOAT!!
He is such a king. Packer for life!
If only someone else had the same selflessness and we could actually build a team under the cap.
Ken Ingalls has me blocked for calling him a nerd. I stand by my statement.

If anyone needs a raise and more opportunity it’s Jones tbh.
And he is still overpaid for a RB.
I love Aaron Jones and don’t ever wanna see the man and his sombrero in another team’s colors.
I know it’s hard to justify paying RBs, but the dude is worth it for all he does for us beyond the actual running part. Dude is a champ and we gotta get him a ring.
This is not a paycut. Jones agreed to a $5M deduction in salary in exchange for an $8M signing bonus, which he receives immediately and the cap hits are split over the duration of his contract the next two seasons. This means Jones will be on the team in 2023 (earning $8M bonus + reduced $11M salary = $19M) and is more likely to be on the team in 2024 (with half the $8M signing bonus added to the 2024 cap hit, whether he’s cut or not).
Wow this is good news, that’s a major sacrifice to say the least by Mr. Jones.
It’s cause 12 is playing for two more years. This is basic knowledge. They making a run.
This means Rodgers can make more
How many times did he leave in the 1st Quarter this year with some minor injury? 4? Or was it every game I picked him for Daily Fantasy?
Great now do this with Bahk too
