  1. While technically true this is a bit of a lie as well. He was getting cut if he didn’t sign a new contract and was never going to get paid what his number was this year. That has always been the case since he signed it.

  2. Hell yeah Jonesy! I don’t care what the haters say, I’m glad he’ll be back in Green & Gold next year. 3️⃣3️⃣ 👨🏾‍🌾

  3. Weird way to frame this that’s not very honest. He was going to get released if not, and he’s the second highest earning RB behind McCaffrey. So uh… he’s making exceptional money for an RB.

  4. Awesome. I was never a proponent of letting him walk. Saves us an earlier draft pick probably, too.

  5. Is this enough? Clearing up 5 million dollars is great but they still have to come up with a ton of money.

  6. I’m not sure if there was a paycut per se’… Maybe a tiny bit? He was scheduled to make a little over $20M in 2023, now that number is down to $11M, plus $8M in signing bonus.

  7. If only someone else had the same selflessness and we could actually build a team under the cap.

  8. I love Aaron Jones and don’t ever wanna see the man and his sombrero in another team’s colors.

I know it’s hard to justify paying RBs, but the dude is worth it for all he does for us beyond the actual running part. Dude is a champ and we gotta get him a ring.

  9. This is not a paycut. Jones agreed to a $5M deduction in salary in exchange for an $8M signing bonus, which he receives immediately and the cap hits are split over the duration of his contract the next two seasons. This means Jones will be on the team in 2023 (earning $8M bonus + reduced $11M salary = $19M) and is more likely to be on the team in 2024 (with half the $8M signing bonus added to the 2024 cap hit, whether he’s cut or not).

  10. How many times did he leave in the 1st Quarter this year with some minor injury? 4? Or was it every game I picked him for Daily Fantasy?
