  1. Without publicly funded infrastructure the city doesn’t get leaseback rights from the team. Teams in that scenario could be flight risks. It’s not always a smart decision to privately fund infrastructure.

  2. Please just stay in Oakland. Be the bigger man and let that Pride go. Do it for the fans and for the city of Oakland

  3. I’m NOT saying we should all take a collection to come up with a “solution” to remove John Fisher from this equation because that would be against TOS… But man, it would be great if John Fisher was removed from this whole situation.

  4. What a slap to the face to all the tradition, history, glory, winning…and the best fans in baseball.

  5. Good thing nothing bad will ever happen to John Fisher, he’ll continue to be healthy and I’m sure nothing catastrophic will happen to him! That would be a real shame if it did.

  6. What’s not said here is likely anyone saying they’ll pay for the infrastructure privately will still seek something in return – tax breaks, concessions, or development rights. It’s naive to think any billionaire will generously pay for something that should be the city government’s responsibility and expect absolutely nothing in return.
