Everyone’s biggest fear with Espino is materializing up to this point. If he has to learn to throw slightly softer to sustain health long term then so be it.

Dang, was hoping he’d show out in ST and get a chance to make the team. Hopefully we can get Espino some experience soon.

Well that’s disappointing.
At least I wasn’t expecting him to be in the rotation out of camp. Plus we still have Williams and Bibee getting close to MLB ready. Espino might be moving into the bullpen is the best option category. However, I thought that with McKenzie at about the same age and he’s gotten healthy and built up his innings a lot. Hopefully Espino can do the same.
Oy vey….the Triston McKenzie school of Tantalizing Slow Burn Excitement. We still have 4/5 exciting pitchers to look at in the mean time. Williams, Bibee, Allen, and Cantillo look really interesting too. Let’s not forget the Pilkman as well. His upside may not be as great, but I think he could be Wade Mileyesque as #4 starter his peripherals aren’t terrible.
I think Espino is ultimately going to end up in the bullpen. Delauter is made of glass apparently, dude is always hurt and not just as a pro.
We should have traded him.

How many times can you break the same foot before you call the foot bad?
With how injury prone DeLauter and Espino are, I wouldn’t be surprised if come 2024 they’ve been sent out in trades (either for talent or more prospects that don’t need to be put on the 40-man)

I feel bad for them, but this isn’t the end of the world.
