  1. Another 2 points lost by Markstrom.

You can’t even argue it anymore, he’s broken and bleeding us points. Calgary was by far the better team but Marky is just shit.

  2. Flames are not La Familia.

I said it in the gamethread, I’ll say it again. If we can’t beat non-playoff teams consistently we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

This is more than a couple teams having our number, this is losing to Montreal (twice), Chicago (twice), Detroit (twice), Buffalo (once), Columbus (once), Ottawa (once so far) and now Philly (once). If you can’t get at least 3 out of 4 points against these teams you’re not a playoff team.

  3. Tired of getting out goalie’d… if our goalies were league average we would be in a playoff spot

  4. 36 shots – lose
    Outshoot other team – lose
    Markstrom – 0.818%
    Huberdeau – invisible

Now which Flames game this season am I referring to?

  5. Season over. 15th overall pick here we come.

This team needs to go on a run to make the playoffs and their longest winning streak of the year is 3 games. 3 games!!

  6. Blow. It. Up.

Sell everyone, seriously this team is going nowhere with how the roster is constructed.

  7. A big save at a critical moment would have been the difference in this one. It’s not all markstrom’s fault but if he could make a big save once in a while we would be in a much better position

  8. My Flames wish list for the rest of the season:

    * Fire Muller and Sutter
    * Trade Markstrom for literally anything
    * Have Lucic sit in the press box for the rest of the season

  9. Our powerplay is so bad not only did we fail to convert it literally cost us two goals against.

Like sure blame Markstrom for giving up some softies yet again but holy why hasn’t a coach been replaced?

  10. yea sucks for us but also the players. after they busted their asses to even us out, the lamest goal of all time was gently tapped in. he couldn’t even push the fucking kid out of the net. id be super upset, i’m wondering if there’s any resentment bubbling there

  11. Markstrom can’t make a clutch save for his life.

If we wanna get the best draft position as possible, just start him every game. Let’s try to get the 10th overall pick or something.

Sutter won’t guide this team to shit this year anyways. Got outcoached by Woodcroft last series anyways

  12. It is actually UNCANNY how this cycle repeats itself. Beat a great team, lose to a terrible team. It’s so predictable it makes me want to cry. Also Jacob Markstrom could be replaced with one of those kids at the game today and no one would’ve noticed.

  13. Now I’m not one to speculate but all I’m saying is ever since lindholm had a child we haven’t won a single game

  14. Once again after a good game they come out and outshoot a basement team with a rookie goalie and lose by a goal.

    Yea. Everything is FINE.

  15. There are three things important to winning hockey games:

    – goaltending
    – defence
    – scoring

Chances are, if you have at least two you can win games semi-regularly. Good goaltending can cover bad defence (Carey Price), you can outscore a team that scores a lot (last year’s Panthers), and if you don’t score a lot, good defence and good goaltending can save you (2013 LA Kings).

The Flames currently usually get *one* a game. Today, they didn’t get any of it.

    – Markstrom had a .818 sv%. Not even close to good enough.
    – Three of the four Flyers goals were on odd man rushes or bad defensive blunders (*especially* the last Flyers goal).
    – based on the scoring chances, Flames should have been up by about four going into the 2nd. Instead, they were down one.

I have no idea what should be done. I personally think Sutter is the wrong coach for these players but that might not be right. I just don’t know.

  16. *Rest assured that I was on internet within minutes registering my disgust throughout the world.*

Classic 22/23 Flames loss. Absolute perfection.

Win one game, suck the next? Check.

Blanked on the power play? Check.

    Penalties at inopportune moments? Check.

    Sub .900 goaltending? Check.

Every defensive mistake leads to a high danger chance? Check.

Out shoot and out chance the opposition at 5 v 5? Check.

Opposition backup goalie playing lights out? Check.

And the !post to end all posts? CHECK.

  17. Special teams and goaltending killed us, story of our season.

Wolf could provide way more than markstrom rn. Once we are officially eliminated I hope he gets a few games. About all I’m looking fwd to.

  18. Guys we’re not trading Markstrom lol.

He’s having a bad season, lots of good goaltenders do. He’ll bounce back.

He also has a NMC, and who would want to give up assets for a $6m goalie barely putting up backup numbers? Because he’ll bounce back? In that case we should keep him.
