  1. Not yet sure what our intentions are for the rest of the season but this was a game we probably win with Dame and Grant. It’s going to be really telling depending on the lineup we run out against the rockets. Guess we just have to wait and find out.

  2. Shaedon Sharpe only playing 22 minutes is a fucking sham. Chauncey needs to hurry up and decide what we’re doing out there. If we’re tanking Shaedon needs to play 35+ minutes every single game.

  3. Hopefully Shaedons fine, bc I can’t think of any other reason for Billups not playing him

  4. Gutty, hard-fought loss. Blazers are now within 1.5 games of a 6% shot at Wemby and 26% chance at a top-4 pick.

  5. This team is trying to win games still. It’s evident in not giving Sharpe too many minutes with how raw of a player he still is. But he needs to be played more in spite of that because we can’t afford to wait 4-5 years for this guy to be a great player

  6. I disagree with the notion that we are tanking (FOR NOW). The rockets game will give us more insight. Too much negativity in the sub rn, officially labeling it tank season, when there are multiple valid reasons for Dame & Grant to rest.

  7. Shaedon needs more minutes than 22 ridiculous that 28 y/o Arabiatta is playing 10 more minutes than him

  8. They really sat Dame and Grant after they essentially got a week off. Wtf is the plan right now? Are they really trying to pretend that they’re serious about winning when they do shit like this? Cronin has no idea what he’s doing, he’s just throwing darts at a wall and seeing what sticks. Billups has no business coaching this team anymore either. We know what he is at this point. What a joke of a franchise. Another year of Lillard’s career wasted.

  9. Super weird game obviously but some of my personal takeaways:

    * Arcidiacono actually looks like a competent floor general. Pretty smart player, and definitely knows how to run an offense at an NBA level. Pleasantly surprised there.

    * Reddish was inconsistent, which seems to be the story of his career to this point. It feels like he has a ton of moves, but doesn’t really have any go-to strength so he does everything on offense at a slightly below average level. Which I’m not sure how useful that’s going to be on a team that’s trying to win games.

    * Keon isn’t a primary ball handler, but he looked pretty solid on defense. Considering he wasn’t ever a PG in high school or college, it feels kind of weird that they are trying to make him into a ballhandler now.

    * Sharpe didn’t have his best game on either end of the floor, but I’m glad he got the opportunity to get some shots up. His handle still looks pretty limited in terms of creating shots for himself, but you can see the potential.

    * Nas looked really good shooting the ball, and even made some plays on defense. He’s never going to be the quickest guy on defense, but it was nice to see him make some plays on that end of the floor. Also somewhat less ball-watching and getting lost today which is good especially against a movement heavy team like the Kings.

    * Trendon was basically what we’ve seen from Trendon so far. He’s really polished on offense, and a pretty decent point forward but just a tweener in the worst way on defense (reminds me a lot of Naz Reid in that way).

    * Chauncey…..I wasn’t expecting him to win the game so I’m not faulting him for a loss. But he continues to be really confusing with a lot of his game management decisions, and it feels like every game there’s one or two specific things that just really make no sense in the flow of the game. Again, not blaming him for losing today since no reasonable person expected a win here. But almost 2 years in and the defense has regressed from the Stotts years, despite having much better defensive personnell doesn’t paint a favorable picture.

  10. I appreciate the outside of the game sort of chess but, playing to lose has no respect in my book. I will never embrace a tank. I like a win no matter the odds mentality. Sad day to be a Blazer.

  11. Why on earth are we tanking with a healthy Dame and a healthy Grant? I do not understand this at all. Look at our roster and look at any other roster that IS tanking. None of those teams have talent like we do. This is fucking embarrassing.

  12. Win from Raps and lakers combined with our loss move us closer to 6% wemby odds. We got Oden at 5.3% odds. Orlando won also, and is playing better. Pacers barely lost to Celtics. If we drop could get that real chance at a franchise changing player.

  13. I’m not usually this guy but it feels like we are tanking. Fuck I hate it but I also get it.

  14. Shaedon Sharpe could play 48 minutes, shoot 15% from the field and this sub would still be saying he’s not playing enough. Y’all are wild for him. It’s actually impressive.

  15. Chauncey sucks. Eubanks sucks. Front office sucks (get another big please), ownership sucks. This team is in a dark dark place

  16. The constant zone is going to end up bad for these young guy’s learning defense. They just go to a spot and daydream

  17. I’d like to see Shaedon try some things in the post rather than take his man off the dribble. His turn around jumper and footwork is already NBA ready.

  18. Did the father of Jabari Walker get to see him play this game? Any other NBA parents there?
