  1. It’s a red flag when a young player is making these comments. Like yes I love that Torop is trying to light a fire under the teams and throwing ricochet shots out; but vets need to be addressing this in the locker room. We lost Vladi and ROR, two veteran leadership type players, someone else is gonna have to step up in the mean time.

  2. It’s a bad sign when a rookie who’s only been called up part of the year is calling out the locker room (and he’s correct in what he said). There’s a big problem in that room and I think there’s more then one. 18 & 25 getting those big contracts definitely had a negative effect on this team from the beginning of this season, and I think that’s still part of the problem. I also get the feeling that the grinders who are constantly putting their bodies on the line are not at all happy with the effort of the high end players. And everyone is pissed at the D or lack thereof. This is all just my opinions and speculation on my part. But I’ve seen a lot of teams over the years, and there’s definitely a problem in that locker room between the players.

  3. I don’t understand why this is the thing everyone wants to talk about, we’re eating the cap intentionally for two of our most expensive players.

Yes I love to watch some great hockey, but there is absolutely no benefit to winning right now.

  4. He’s exactly right. Regardless of fans wanting them to lose and management intentionally icing a less competitive team, the players should not have that mentality. They should always be playing their best and trying to win. Need the guys getting big contracts to show they’re worth it, even when there’s little to play for.

  5. I’m ok with losing, given the players we’ve lost. But Torpy’s spot on, the vets aren’t playing very well. Saad and whipping boy Parayko were especially bad last night.
