[Gasparino] SCOOP (1/2): As @JeffBezos takes steps to bid on @Commanders current owner Dan Snyder telling @NFL he’s not selling for less than $6 billion, sources tell me. @NFL is really pushing Bezos to make a bid, I am told, because he can easily meet the league’s 30% owner equity rule.

  1. It seemed like it was going to be bezos from the onset, ill continue to believe it will be bezos until it isnt

  2. Rumors were Snyder wouldn’t go below 7. Looks like he’s ready to negotiate. Great sign for the people worried that Snyder set the price too high on purpose so he wouldn’t have to sell.

  3. Regarding the second tweet, I still have no idea why Bezos would need or want to sell the Washington Post “as part of the deal.” It calls into question everything else these insiders put out when they include that tidbit. Happy if I’m wrong but there’s just not a connection there that makes sense to me.

  4. Still don’t really put much faith in these reports. The new $6B figure could be a buyer trying to negotiate the price down in public. These leaks are all deliberate ways of trying to manipulate the situation, not trying to add transparency. Without knowing even what side of the situation the sources are, the information here is junk.

  5. Bezos buying the team was always going to be the end result. The rest of it has been a charade. The League has been wanting to replace Snyder with Bezos and has been working toward that goal for years.

  6. My dream would be an ownership group with Bezos, Jay-Z, and the Mannings if the rumors are true that they want to be part owners of a franchise.

Bezos for the bottomless bank account, Jay-Z for the memes, and Peyton Manning as the face of ownership.

  7. So he says: ” As [@JeffBezos](https://twitter.com/JeffBezos) takes steps to bid on [@Commanders](https://twitter.com/Commanders)”

But then doesn’t define what steps he’s taken?

I’d have to believe the league also wants the JayZ part to happen. If you look at the Broncos deal, all of the minority investors were POC. That’s clearly there point of emphasis (AFTER) getting paid.

  8. – Bezos buys the Commanders
    – New Stadium gets built
    – Name it “Prime Field at Amazon Stadium”
    – Fans with Prime memberships get discounts on concessions and team merchandise in stadium

  9. This is all very good news.

    1. Dans dropped from 7 to 6
2 He acknowledges that he will sell
    3. He didn’t take a big public shit on Bezos.
