Ramsey, 28, is due $17 million in 2023 on a front-loaded deal that averages $20M and L.A. is clearing cap space. pic.twitter.com/vTYlX7nn5B

FUCK THEM PICKS! DO YOUR THING BRAD!
You could suggest prime Peyton Manning as a roster addition and this sub would be like “nah not a culture fit”.
Brad drafted well. Now it’s the talent acquisition era
I don’t wanna hear bozos complain about the asking price. They’ll suggest drafting a cb in the same breath who has a 0.05% chance at being as good as Jalen Ramsey. Teams with SB aspirations make moves like this
Hopefully not to us
Man unless they’re asking for 6 or 18 I don’t see why they shouldn’t do this deal. They’ve already said they need to contend next year. Gotta make a swing
Come to Detroit plz
I was full speed ahead on the idea of signing a CB as well as drafting one at 6, the idea of maybe losing that pick and the money to sign a good CB with Ramsey’s contract is scary, but his talent is just so undeniable and I’d love to have him be a Lion.
What does his cap hit look like?
Come to daddy
I wouldn’t give up a first for him, but we’ll see what the asking price is
Same old Lions sit back and don’t go after him because we aren’t there yet … Brand new Lions bring this dude in and load up for a run.
Holmes is probably not gonna give away our hard-earned draft capital for Ramsey (a first round pick +) but if the asking price drops I could see him offering Minnesota’s 2nd round pick this year and possibly a future 4th rounder for him.
We’ll most likely have to wait and see what other teams offer to know if we’re in it but the thought of having him here is intoxicating for sure (for me anyway).
He is over rated. He blows coverage a lot. He’s a glorified safety.
Bring in Ramsey for 18 and a 3rd, pick up Wagner as FA, make a fucking run.
I would give up a second for Jalen. Easily.
Trade 18 for him and maybe a 3rd
I’d give up 18.

No pint in gaining draft capital if you’re not gonna use it! Would love to see this happen!
“I don’t want an elite player at a position of need that’s a 6 year pro bowler and potential future hall of famer, I’d rather try and draft an elite player at a position of need that had a 30% chance to even make a single pro bowl” – most people in this sub
There’s only a handful of teams who can take on this salary as it currently stands and NFL trades are always weird. Think we could probably get away with paying way less than a first. I think I’d offer a 3rd and 2024 4th because there’s some risk involved. Could also make those back by trading down after.
This sub:
We need to build our defense – it’s what held us back last year. We especially need help in the secondary. Maybe even draft two corners in the first.
Also this sub:
Fuck getting one of the best corners in the league.
Like the family guy skit. A Ramsey is a Ramsey but a number 18 pick could be anything. It could even be a Ramsey!
Fleecing the Rams twice.
I’m toying around with the idea of the 18th for Ramsey and their high 2nd rd pick. The Lions are in a very similar situation to the Rams when they acquired Jalen. They were 9-7 that season with a up and upcoming offense and they wanted an elite corner to anchor that secondary. He helped get them into the playoffs the following year including a win.
With that high 2nd round pick, they could still grab a quality secondary prospect. Late first to early 2nd round is the sweet spot for this year’s cornerbacks imo. Clark Phillips, Quan Martin and other quality CBs are likely to be there and you’ll have your pick of them. These guys are fast, quick and have a lot of time both on the outside and in that slot position. Or the could go the DT route. If Mazi Smith is still there, he could be too irresistible to pass up on, 330lb+ almost-all-muscle-guys aren’t all that common.
If he were to go anywhere, I’d want him to go here. Just so you know.
Ultimate timeline: We get Ramsey then proceed to knock the Cowboys out next year. Micah cries.
If we get Jalen and Bobby, it’s game over for the NFC North. We own it.
Okudah and a 2nd? Thoughts?
Yes please
And we are not one of those teams.
We need to stick to the course and keep building through the draft. THATS exactly what brads gonna do..no huge FA spending no massive trades for players etc
I believe in the culture the Lions have built so far. If Ramsey is willing to buy in and be a leader the right way I am all for trading for him BUT I would not give up a 1st round pick for him. 2nd or a package including a 2nd no firsts.
His contract is actually favorable too compared to what other corners are going to want in the next few years. So as long as he isn’t wanting new deal immediately and he wants to fit in with the team I am on board.
