You and me both buddy. Check back in July when we both need hugs?
After they traded away Carlos Lee to get Scotty Pods, 2005 was the only year that I was convinced we would suck. Never felt better being wrong.
Even 2017/2018?
Bro Even I will be full aboard the hype Machine By March 30th.
I am hopeless. Go sox.
Eloy is down 25-30 pounds. Lucas Giolito is gonna try his hardest. Yaz is putting in work. The team has an edge. They’re angry and disappointed.
This is our year. What could possibly go wrong?
The 2022 Sox remind me a lot of the 2021 Padres and 2019-20 Clippers (for those of you who follow the NBA).
The Padres were supposed to contend in 2021, but they not only missed the playoffs, they also finished under .500. I do understand that they were in a much tougher division unlike us, but after managerial and coaching changes, they played better and almost made the World Series the next year.
I’m not saying we’ll go that far necessarily, but I will be cautiously optimistic because I see quite a few parallels.
(Edit: I mentioned the Clippers because they also had an embarrassing end to their season in the bubble, but the next year they got within 2 wins of the Finals after changing their head coach, which was the furthest they have gone in franchise history, even when their best player was injured.)
I am cautiously optimistic with a new coaching staff. Our offseason was crap but we have a great team hoping less injuries this year and more consistency
What hype
*Looks around*
What hype?
That’s what baseball is all about. Every spring feels like it can be the year. Plus, after last year, I can’t be disappointed.
Anyone have the Michael Scott “I’m ready to get hurt again” meme handy?
It’s wild how much variance I have in my mind for this season. They could win 70 games and trade anyone with value at the deadline or they could win 90+ games and take the division in a rout (they could even make a deep playoff run with the pitching staff if everyone stays healthy). Neither would surprise me. It’s so weird.
Sox have been a playoff team 2 of the last 3 years. Had a disappointing .500 season. No idea why everyone is so down on this team. Every team has holes. I think this is a playoff team
Offseason hype? What offseason hype?
From everything fans have been posting and talking about expectations are on the floor
I feel this way about all Chicago sports teams and seasons. The last time the bears won was when I was born. 😭
HELL YEAH BROTHER
26th consecutive year? Well, all you need is fifty more years and you’ll catch up to me. Stop whining and play ball!
Hype? All I’ve heard this offseason is that the franchise is in shambles and Jerry is the worst owner in sports.
Best this team can hope for is second in the division and maybe a wild card.
