Caruso ranks tops of point of attack defenders in the league and Pat right up there with the best as well this season.

This right here is the biggest reason we should play small and move Pat Will to the bench. The weakness of playing small ball is supposed to be defense but in our case it is a strength … and its not like Williams is some great rebounder either.
the defense has surprisingly not been ‘the’ problem this year. credit to billy on that. We somehow have a top 10 drating this year
we need javonte back to complete the defensive dogs trio

Importantly too, if the perimeter guys can keep guys in front of them, Vucevic doesn’t have to function as a rim protector. When Vuc just gets to rotate and stand tall, he’s an effective help and switch defender. He just isn’t the guy to bail out wide open drives in the basket.

Think we’re probably gonna lose javonte in the off season which is a shame. He’s been my favorite by far of all the hustle players we’ve had in a like a decade
Pat Bev has also had a down year in both ends in the advanced on/off stats like RAPTOR. I blame the Lakers personally.
This teams issue haven’t really been from defense, although I would argue they sometimes let games slip away by playing suspect defense for a quarter or two. The issues have been mostly attributed to scoring, horrendous shooting and no 3 pt shooting. Basically all the problems highlighted in last years playoff run and their second half of the season skid from the year prior.
