[Simmons] Now it seems like a foregone conclusion. If you talk to anyone around the league, they’ll be like “Yeah, Harden’s going to Houston”

  1. I’ll believe it when I see it. If he comes here he’s not getting a ring and as long as Joel continues to dominate Philly is his best chance.

  2. Until I see him at practice I’m assuming this is all smoke by his new agent so Morey doesn’t think he can still get a discount

  3. I’m so hyped that I don’t cate this is more than likely not going to happen and CRUSH me.

  4. The reason I think this is possible is that, if we don’t end up drafting 2nd and securing Scoot Jr, Harden is far and away the best point guard option we can get and, in a vacuum, would be the best use of our massive salary cap room if we’re serious about trying to be competitive starting next season.

On his side, few if anyone else is going to offer him max money and there will be less pressure on him because turning around the Rockets in any capacity will be seen as a win whereas if he stays in Philly or moves to a likewise immediate contender, he will continue to be judged exclusively by every championship he doesn’t have.

To me it’s a win win that has nothing to do with who Harden is to the city of Houston. He just happens to be a great point guard when there aren’t a lot of other options when, more than anything, we need a great point guard.

  5. I’d be hyped, but I’m gonna assume it’s smoke screen so I don’t get sad if it doesn’t happen.

  6. I am not a Rockets fan, but can I ask why a team that needs to accumulate and develop young talent — that is currently 15-49 — would want James Harden? Not exactly in the title race with him.

  7. That’s what they say now.Give em maybe a year and the media will be reporting”Harden demands trade outta Houston”

  8. He does not need leverage or a bargaining chip. Daryl has been his guy for a decade. They’re like family lol

  9. Also seems like a narrative rivals teams would like to push to make the Philly locker room toxic

  10. Makes sense, Houston is a much better city. Philadelphia is a miserable city filled with miserable people.

  11. Re-signing Harden would be the worst thing the Rockets could do. You’re not winning a title with him. Probably not even making the playoffs with him. It would be a pure money grab. Fuck Fertitta with a rusty butter knife if he does this shit

  12. How does everyone in here feel about this? I’m wondering if I’m crazy to like the idea. I miss harden. We need a good PG… to me it seems like it could be a good move (as long as we don’t have to give up too much)
