  3. It’s so weird to me that Stafford Donald and McVay are coming back but we’re offloading every vet. Seems like we’re gonna have half the cap dedicated to dead cap to try and compete in 24

  4. Sucks to be losing guys that were main contributors to the SB run, but this ending was written the second the ink dried on that 4 yr extension.. Reality of the new NFL is that guys sign these contracts that are team-friendly on the front end and as it progresses get super inflated.

    Players sign these deals because of that up-front guarantee and usually, like Leonard in this situation, get a nice restructure bonus to bring that cap number down for the team. Leonard leaves the Rams after making 42 mill in 3 years.. he revived his career and got a ring out of it.

  5. This was the one that was known was going to happen. Not shocking. The Rams are going full offense this year. We do not live in a time when the defense wins championships. They help and can make things easier, but they are no longer needed.

    Chances are they will begin building the defense next year when they get a new coach. It is very similar to what they did when McVay first took over. Build the offense first, then work on the defense. They are also laying the ground work for after Donald.

  7. Letting Floyd go is accepting that we’re not playing to win for the next season. Our Edge rushing starts and ends with Leonard Floyd, unless we’re making a splash trade for someone else I really don’t see the point of letting him go.

    Looks like the dark years are actually ahead of us, if we’re doing this – we may as well sell high on Kupp and Donald.

  9. Keep Donald, live the median on defense, STACK the offense to score 30+ per game and lets roll.

  15. At this point, a firesale makes a lot of sense if we’re trying to tank for Caleb and accumulate picks. Might be a hard pill to swallow, but that’s what’s best in terms of the long term future of the franchise.

  17. He’s one of my favorite players 🙁 love seeing his name pop up on a big play. Hope he finds success wherever he goes.
