  1. I really like how impactful Grant has been on defense the last few games especially when Trendon has to play center. In those minutes, I really like that chauncey has finally mostly put Grant off the ball defensively and let him fly around and get deflections/steals/blocks at the rim when someone gets beat (which, let’s be honest is pretty much every time).

For instance here [Trendon gets beat but Grant walls him off forcing a bad miss](https://streamable.com/nr1vgp)

[Here’s a possession where Grant zones up the Murray drive forcing a pass then recovers for the block](https://streamable.com/lmlxbw) (I think Grant being used as the primary rim defender in the zone defenses we run when Trendon is on the floor is an interesting wrinkle).

[Here’s another one where as the weakside low man rotating over to protect the rim, he gets a steal](https://streamable.com/aaksip) and finally [this one where he switches off wagner but uses his length to force a turnover](https://streamable.com/0t51oq)

[Another wrinkle I noticed from the past two games is Trendon switching more PnRs](https://streamable.com/7pfzif) Yes I understand part of why this looks good is that RJ Hampton completely sucks, but still. **While I’ve been critical about the switching in the past with regards to Dame and Ant in crunch time (which, by the way, happened yet again last night in Orlando too where** [Dame got switched onto Banchero with no help in crunch time, but Banchero missed an easy layup](https://streamable.com/amkdm1)), there’s definitely some merit to switching Trendon more heavily especially since he’s never going to be able to play drop coverage effectively – he’s just too undersized.

Anyways, just thought I’d bring up some of the positive things I’ve seen from Chauncey recently – it’s only fair since I’ve been probably the most vocal “Chauncey-skeptic” on this sub recently.

  2. I mean… I like to win games but it kinda sucks when we’re able to beat terrible teams like the pistons magic rockets, but look like bums when going against real teams. Feels like we’re wasting dames best season
