70 in 70. Celebrating the Orioles 70th season by showcasing a handful of pictures from each season of Orioles Baseball. 2001

I’m going to try something different and have videos from the 2001 season. That is one of my favorite seasons of baseball.
The 2001 season was the ned of a long streak of oriole seasons with a top tier pitcher. The best pitcher for the Os in 2001 was Jason Johnson. 2001 was also the debut of several mid 2000s Orioles and favorites, including Brian Roberts and Melvin Mora.
Tim Raines Jr. and Sr were father son teammates for a short time in the 2001 season. More is a publicity stunt than everything. Because the team was so bad, there really was no reason to not have something like the Raines experience happening.
I never knew the Yankees celebrated, or planned to celebrate Cals last game with a special ticket. As we know, 9/11 changed the season and changed Cals last game from an away game to a home game. By dumb chance, I ended up with tickets to what turned out to be his final game. I certainly had no previous plans to go to NY.
