  1. I think everyone’s issue with Malone that goes back several seasons, not just the current losing streak, is not that we are losing games but the way we are losing them. Everybody agrees that he’s a great background guy that can add to the team atmosphere and all of that, but his actual management during the games and the absolute lack of any sense of accountability is what irks most of us. According to him, every time we lose it’s never his tactics, or subs or timing of the time-outs, it’s always exclusively the players’ fault and Malone has never made a single wrong move in his life.

  2. I don’t think Malone should be fired.

But our 2nd unit has been pretty bad all year and I do put that on Malone. I understand Jokic is the offense, but Malone needs to coach and figure out how to get some buckets when Jokic isn’t on the floor.

  3. Every fanbase subreddit I’m in is full of doomers every time the team goes through a little rough patch. It’s honestly hilarious how up and down people get. It’s an 82 game season, people

  4. But what has Malone done well at all in his years here. Our bench units under him have been horrible. And it’s not like it’s a bunch of bad players. It’s guys who were either successful on other teams or guys who when playing with Joker look like solid players but as soon as Joker goes to the bench it’s like everyone forgets how to play basketball. Tell me if we had Jokab Poetl instead or Joker do you think we would even be in the play-in right now. The splits when Joker is on/off undeniably show that Malone has no idea what to do outside of Joker. The man had ZERO coaching success before he came here and was gifted a transcendent player like Jokic. If not Malone would have lasted about as long as Brian Shaw.

  5. If the playoff run this year is bad, I think they should fire him and try something new. The MVP ain’t getting younger.

  6. Fact—no one has ever been coach of one team this long without winning a title. EVER. Malone has literally gotten more slack than any NBA coach in history.

  7. Jokic has clearly kept Malone employed all these years. Nothing else. With that said, fire him, but then do what? I’ll be the first to say firing sounds great, but will also be the first to admit that firing him at this point does nothing. Unless Adleman is a better option, which perhaps he actually may be, who else is out there that can make things better at this moment in the season? Is there even a real improvement of a coach in the off-season?

  8. Malone shouldn’t be fired but he deserves all the criticism right now. He’s done a great job up until now but it’s put up or shut up time. He needs at least a WCF birth.

  9. I think we only start legitimate fire malone talk if the nuggets like loose in the second round if the make the finals idc he better stay

  10. I thought Adam had a pretty good take this morning on LoN. Would be great if Malone could see the forest through the trees skmetimes

  11. it’s not just the coaching it’s the rotations. there are so many times where the second unit has to completely fend up against the other team starters. he has to tell Murray to make better shots as well coach him into his spots. jokic is phenomenal but we have to run plays for our guards as well. his rotations are terrible and some of the lineups are just as bad

  12. I don’t know much about the x’s and o’s but I like Malone he seems cool

  13. I don’t think we should fire Malone but I do think if we get absolutely housed by the Suns in the Second Round like I think we might we need to think back to games like this one and take a serious look at that. And perhaps backup the Brinks Truck for Becky Hammon.

  14. Coaching is a lot about unseen stuff and maybe Malone is great at that stuff. Other than Jokic liking him a lot. What does Malone do well.

He hasn’t been able to scheme an above average defense around Jokic. He hasn’t been able to create an offensive system that can survive without Jokic. He consistently favors vets who are close to washed over promising younger players than can develop into something special.

I am not in favor in firing Moach yet, but I am getting concerned.

  15. I personally would have used a different meme than this……..maybe you were too young to remember this day, nothing to joke about. Whatever.

  16. Could someone point me to the last time we got an uncontested shot to close a game miss or not? I swear every time it is a murray/jokic heave but they make them half the time so Malone thinks its fine.

  17. It bothers me how easily rattled he gets. Like we’re losing to the Spurs and he’s blowing a fuse to the point where he starts making bad personnel decisions, like playing a dying Jamal way too many minutes for a meaningless game. Or benching MPJ during a great offensive performance against the Nets in March because you’re panicking. He should be letting Mike figure out these defensive problems with the rest of the starters, not pulling him and giving up on him for the rest of the game.

Really the first time I’ve complained about him, the MPJ benching got to me. I think he’s been a solid coach and could take us to the Finals with Jokic, I just wish he had more composure or a shorter fuse. I hope he proves me wrong in the Playoffs and rises to the occasion!
