I Agree – Mike Gesicki got a one-year deal for only $4.5M supposedly. The TE market is completely surpressed right now. The Commanders should absolutely be talking with Dalton Schultz, who is 26 and very productive, right now.

  1. I think Logan will get cut.

And yeah, if the delta between a guy like Armani Rodgers (talented, has potential, but unproven) and an elite level tight end like Gesicki is ~$4m, I hope they consider signing a top tier FA.

  2. I think it’s worth considering scheme fit here. Reportedly one of the reasons he was under-utilized in the Dolphins offense is because it emphasizes blocking TEs. It’s tough to project the role of the TE in EB’s offense since Kelce was a unicorn, but I suspect blocking will be a bigger factor with EB than Reid. So I don’t know if he would have been the right guy to bring in.

  3. 4.5 guaranteed and another 4.5 in incentives. Still pretty cheap if you think he bounces back from his horrible season last year.

  4. People may not agree with me but I think the rookie Turner is the best TE we have. No TE can succeed in our offense bc they just block, but if we use our TEs more then we can see Turner as a top TE in the league: source: Martin the GM said Turner was the best TE he’s seen in spring rookie camp in almost 20 years

  5. First, the FO supposedly likes the guys we have, and they say they thought LT probably came back too early, so looked worse until near the end of season. Second, has everyone forgot that we are the very last free agency destination in the league? So, add 25% to any contract you see if they came here.

  6. I honestly think we’ll go TE with a later pick something like a Zack Kuntz or Davis Allen.. this would be more of a Ron Rivera move.
