I’ll go back soon to find out who the artist is.
I miss Steve. I wish he was still around… I wonder what his engagement with the organization would be like.
Not only did the artist nail it with Steve but got to be honest definitely pulls a heartstring or two
Ok, so, I guess it’s been around a few years and I never noticed it 😅 so I’m sorry if any members have seen this already. Here’s the artist! “Jamersonsgc” on Instagram
Obligatory Steve McNair story cause I don’t get to tell this one too often anymore:
Back in the day, I was a regular at Kazu, a bar in Cummins Station. Steve had an office upstairs and would sometimes visit the bar. I never talked to him because we don’t bother celebrities, etc.
One day, it was a bit crowded. I was at the bar and Steve was sitting at a table at the other end of the room with some friends (and a few pretty ladies as I remember it.) The bartender (who we both knew) kept telling me I should go say hi, but I was too nervous. Eventually I got up to use the bathroom.
While I was gone, some words must have been said because as soon as I sat down again at my stool, I saw Steve get up and start walking toward the bar. I kept my cool until I saw him politely push though the little crowd and walk right up me and my friends. He stuck out his hand and said “Hi, I’m Steve. I understand that we’re supposed to meet.”
I kind of lost my cool and grabbed him in a hug. (We WERE drinking). He laughed and said “What’d you do that for?” I start to apologize and he says “No man, it’s fine. It’s just that you’re wearing a Steelers shirt and you just hugged the quarterback for the Ravens, man.”
And we all laughed like the end of a Scooby Doo episode. It was amazing. My favorite football player of all time. RIP in peace, brother.
Lesson learned: never sleep over at your side chick’s place
That looks like the guy from Always Sunny playing Steve Mcnair.
