[O’Connor] Torts: I think where we’re at as an organization, you don’t start adding players until you subtract some players. And that’ll be in discussion at the end of the year.

  1. 0.00% chance Hayes is a Flyer next year. Needs to happen. I think he’s the class clown of the team and someone you can’t have as a leader in the locker room with all these young kids coming up.

  2. Kind of funny to hear that coming from the Head Coach, but he’s right.

The way I see it, Hayes and Provorov are damn near locks to be gone, and I can’t imagine any of the Free Agents coming back. I don’t see anyone drafted 2017 or later being moved, and Coots/Atkinson/Ristolainen/Sanheim are all staying solely due to their contract situations, and it’s pretty obvious Laughton is staying.

The 3 curious cases will be TK, Hart, and DeAngelo. I think it makes sense to trade TK, but I think they keep him if they get lottery luck, as I’d want to have at least 1 top line player to play with a young star Center (let a man dream). I’d be testing the market on Hart, but I’m not willing to move him unless it’s a genuinely great offer (I’m not taking a late 1st and a meh prospect and calling it a day). I wouldn’t make DeAngelo untouchable at all, but honestly there’s there’s no rush to move him before the deadline, and a part of me kind of wants to see if Tortorella can do rehabilitation work with his defensive game the same way he kind of did with Risto this season. We’re weak enough at RHD and DeAngelo is still relatively young enough that it may be worth giving it until the 2024 TDL to see where things are at with him. At the same time, if someone makes a good offer for him in the summer I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on trading him.

  3. Done with TDA move him if possible. Same with Hayes. I would keep TK and Hart unless you get an offer significantly better than what G got for either of them. So either a top 10 pick or a top tier prospect included. There is no reason they couldn’t be productive veterans when this team is competitive, if the rebuild goes well.

  4. I hope they move alot of guys. But I have zero idea what Briere can or cannot do. Fletcher was so stupid he couldn’t even move JVR.

Coots/Atkinson/Ristolainen/Sanheim are totally stuck with. Whether we want to or not.

TK and Provy probably get moved.

Hayes…I dunno, do teams actually want him?

We love Murderface but at 28 I wouldn’t be against moving him if it was a good offer.

Everyone else probably has near zero value save for Hart.

  5. A wise man once said: “we gotta start cutting the crust off this shit sandwich”

  6. What’s the deal with Hayes? Aside from Torts not liking him, why doesn’t he have any goodwill with this sub?

  7. I wonder if Torts pulled a muscle in his neck gesturing wildly towards Kevin Hayes with this comment

    Clean em out

  8. Please trade Hayes, Provorov, TK and Hart. (Yeah I know I’m crazy…) If you get anyone to take TDA then do it. If you get anyone to take Risto then do it.

The haul you could get back for the above would be tremendous in terms of draft capital and young players. If Hayes/Provy go, there is a huge boost to the team dynamic, those guys don’t necessarily drag people down, they just don’t pull anyone to new heights like they are paid to.

Tippett is the real deal. Gauthier is coming up and could be similar. You got Frosty/Brink/Foerster all lining up to be good top 6 guys. We get a #5-#10 pick in a deep draft with a tiny chance of a generational player. Probably another first rounder if not two if the names above are moved. Maybe we move up to top 2-4 with multiple picks.

Ersson looks good but not completely sold yet obviously, but I think it’s still a good idea to move Hart for assets. Yes we nevwr have a #1 but you have to think you could sign someone later when our time is right vs wasting Carter in his prime when he can help us rebuild quicker.
