  2. Wow what a game!! When Mexico scored the 2 runs in the 8th I thought Japan was toast. Amazing resolve and execution on their part. It's not just talk by analysts – the Japanese national teams are always VERY fundamentally sound and do the little things. I think that's why they're so dangerous in win or go home tournaments like this.

  24. I can see how Mexico beat the US team in the group play. This game could have gone either way, it was that close. Sandoval was exceptional, giving hope that the Angels may fare better this year. Mexico, a traditional soccer nation, is now turning on to beisbol, and will be a force for years to come.

    And it was a worth match that both japan and mexico could win. Mexico has a strong defense, and I was particularly surprised by Arrozarena's defense. He caught Okamoto's home run ball.

  26. What an amazing game of baseball. As a Red Sox fan, it was fun seeing Yoshida hit a clutch game-tying blast and then Verdugo giving Mexico the lead with an RBI double. What a win for Team Japan! Excited for the championship!

  40. ¡Qué partidazo! México dio lo mejor de sí, pero Japón es Japón. Así y todo, la novena mexicana hizo un papel más que honroso en este torneo. Entrar entre los primeros 4 en el campeonato es muy meritorio. Mis felicitaciones a los mexicanos y japoneses por habernos brindado un maravilloso espectáculo deportivo.
