  1. I know they have quality control issues, but this might actually fix that since they’re no longer having to compete as the value sweater

  2. Hopefully this deal doesn’t last. Maybe once the league sees letters and numbers peel off mid game they will realize the little bit of money they saved not going with a more reputable company wasn’t worth it.

  3. Man that stinks. They produce a pretty trash product. Comparing the sweaters from the CCM, Koho, Reebok, and Addidas eras, fanatics graded stuff is literally like the cheap knockoff version of everything. Yea it looks good online but when you get it in person it’s obviously the materials, and especially the “patches” are just so crap. Oh well.

  4. This is not a great look for the league at the onset. Let’s hope Fanatics made a commitment to produce the on-ice jerseys with better materials and technology. That’s only thing I can think of that would’ve made their bid worthwhile, over Nike or CCM.

The only plus side I hope to see is that the “authentic” retail jerseys will be more big man friendly. The Adidas ones are far from that. I have Reebok jersey in a 3XL and fits wonderfully, even after all these years. Wanted to upgrade to the Adidas jersey, found a 3XL on eBay for a good price. Couldn’t get it over my shoulders. Laid it over my Reebok to compare and the difference in sizing wasn’t even close. The Adidas one looked like it was 2 sizes smaller than the Reebok.

I have a couple Fanatics branded hoodies, that I love, granted you have to order up a size in them because their made of polyester and their an “athletic cut”.

  5. Reading the full article on ESPN, apparently the jerseys worn by MLB teams are a actually made by Fanatics for Nike. Same goes for the authentic NFL jerseys you can buy. Fanatics makes them and puts the Swoosh on them.

  6. Fanatics makes utter garbage. I’ve had a couple
of their branded t-shirts start bleeding through and showing the screen print outlines and another one came brand new with the logo all kinds of fucked up.

The big four leagues having exclusive merch/IP contracts with them has been terrible. It seems like they ignore some teams while making more merchandise for others. For instance, I’ve wanted a new Grizzlies shirt to replace some older ones, but they have no cool shirts for the Grizzlies that aren’t just two-tone blue with a logo.

I foresee products getting shittier and more expensive.
