The difference between Panthers and Houston/Indy FO attendance at Ohio State’s pro day is…interesting 🧐

I know I’ll get accused of being a conspiracy theorist, and yes I know that this ultimately proves nothing, but…
I find extremely hard to believe that Houston would only send their Director of Player Personnel, National Scout and Area Scout to watch CJ Stroud if they believed that there was ANY chance that he might be available at 2 OR if they believe they have any legitimate chance to trade up to #1. Like, do your HC, OC, QB Coach and GM all have better things to do than watch and talk with the potential face of your franchise?? Lol
To me, the amount of Panthers FO going to the pro day isn’t what’s interesting here, but I’ll be extremely interested to see if the Texans send a bigger entourage to the other QB pro days.
I think they are gonna roll this deep for Stroud and Young, maybe all 4. I love it, shows they are doing their due diligence and everything they can to get the right guy.
Carolina knows they are going QB at #1 so everyone will go scout the QBs. Indy specifically are probably spreading their scouts out across the various other pro days this week to see other position guys.
Who knows what the Texans are up to. They’re the Texans
I don’t think this is only about going and watching players. This is a cool front office team building trip. A pretty good culture can be built out of opportunities like this.

It would be malpractice for Houston to make assumptions with such an important decision
They know who they want
It will be telling to see how the handle the next one. If they are taking the full unit to all of them, it means nothing. If it’s a smaller group elsewhere, it means everything.
I’m running on about 3 hours of sleep and I’ve been up for 22 hours. Once I got to the bottom of the list my eyes started to cross and I thought I read Sir Purr. I snapped out of it and focused my eyes and saw that he wasn’t on the list. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Im curious who has the final say on what guy they pick. Would tepper defer to a more experienced player or gm?
