Chandler Jones has the 7th highest cap hit among EDGE players in ‘23 and 16th highest in ‘24. This was a terrible contract that Ziegler prob has nightmares about.

  1. This motherfucker needs to start taking the steroids his brother takes. How does Jon Jones not hook a brother up?

  2. Yeah but did you see how man handled Mac Jones?? That was worth all his monies right?? RIGHT???

  3. I say we incorporate him into the offense and let Jakobi Meyers throw him up a pass or two a game

  4. He’s not going to be on the team in 2024. He will be cut with a post June 1 designation next year which would save 17M in cap space and only a 2M dead cap hit.

  5. He had better have nightmares about this one. There were really no real standout good contracts he has signed yet.

  6. Idk why you’ll giving grandpa Jones a hard time, you know your grandpas could do what he did last yr

  7. Only thing I’m gonna say is…historically, he’s been better in odd years than even years. He’s had at least 10.5 sacks in every odd year from 2013 to 2021 and all of his Pro Bowls and All Pros happened in odd years. 70.5 sacks in those five seasons vs 51.5 sacks in the six even years he’s played. Yeah, it’s a reach…but he’s got a history of bouncing back with production.

  8. The fact that he had half of his sacks from one game in the season before he came to the Raiders was a big red flag.

  9. And y’all wanted Ziegler to make the same mistake and overpay in free agency again this year. Crying about all these value ass contracts he’s signing this year.

  10. The thing is this isn’t revisionist bullshit either.

Literally the day his contract numbers came out and we saw the structure, it was terrible and anyone with at least 5/20 vision could see it.

He’d have to hit such a high level of production, at 108 years old, just to *justify* the damn contract. Let alone outperform it! Terrible contract. Front office got **played**.

  11. Maybe they rolled the dice when they first got the job to go into win now mode. They add a Defensive star DE in free agency, as well as trade for a star WR who will both be added to a playoff team and then maybe go make some noise in the playoffs.

  12. Still an above average nFL starter at his position (saves it from extreme total disaster, though it is still an awful deal), he is one of 3 starters max of nfl caliber on D. Crosby Hobbs and him

  13. And he got rid of a decent player in Yannick who was much cheaper and a bit younger for this guy lmao

  14. Or he was given the money to teach these young guys the scheme and get them up to standard fast a f . Idk maybe think outside the box and not just look at production . Wisdom and knowledge is priceless

  15. The Littleton contract of this regime. I hated it and with that being said, I’ve loved all moves beside this contract. Also they are aware of it and have refused to restructure to just cut ties all together including financially after next season. Just glad we won’t be paying him even when he’s gone.

He wasn’t effective unless we had very good DT play, which was almost never last year beside the small spark when Tillery came in but that didn’t last long. I hope they have an answer for the hole at DT in the draft.

But I really like the contracts and signings so far, Ziegler has been cooking. Spillane was the replacement for Denzel and he’s very effective in the run but I think he’s going to fill the void better because he doesn’t have injury problems. Long, Duke, Jermaine, Hooper, Epps have been extremely team friendly deals. Hooper will be a starter along with Duke and Epps no doubt, and Zieg got them on the cheap.

I can see why people got up in arms over the Waller move BUT if you payed attention last year and his injury history, it wasn’t a big surprise. Then the reports have been coming out on the whole problem with him just leaving the team to go propose. Tbh that doesn’t matter, there’s also been reports on him not playing when he could have (I think that’s who Carr was referencing when he got emotional) and if that’s accurate then it’s a great move. Maybe after the 1k season the raiders could get a 2nd but he’s been injured for 2 years so I don’t get why people think raiders got finessed, did we forget Ramsey got dealt for a 3rd? It wasn’t a huge return but it was definitely solid.

Contracts have been great as I explained but the Draft will be the biggest test. This is the new 2019 class where they HAVE TO hit on cornerstone type players, if they fail then I don’t see them getting a year 3. But I have confidence, if Zieg found Parham in the 3rd then i want to see him work with a top 10 pick and a 2nd and a bunch of late to mid round picks. Keep calm nation

  16. Worth every penny to this Raider fan living in NE. I laminated a pic of him rolling over Mac Jones and hung it on the front of my workstation for all to see. It gave me such joy.

  17. He recruited Jacobi and turned him into a Raider in one play, so there’s that added value 😏

  18. Yes the signing didn’t go as planned. I don’t think anybody expected him to fall off that much. Maybe he can bounce back a little this year.

But definitely a poor signing. This is the only signing I hold against ziegler thus far
