  1. I still love the return of the pick

But thats kind of a dumb of poles to not attempt to drive up the price with bidding teams

  2. I still would have preferred waiting until the draft or at least a few days before the draft. Had Poles waited, he could have gotten more out of Carolina and they would probably be much worse going into the season with no time to figure out how they would replace Moore.

  3. I really really like how open Poles is about everything. Transparency is really nice to see

  4. What kind of dumb move is this? Why wouldn’t you play the offers off one another to drive up the price? Stupid

  5. I’m happy with the trade. Don’t really care to parse words. Just glad he doesn’t hide like Pace.

  6. Right the whole “bEsT anD fInAl” offer thing is for shitheads who watch too much HGTV.

  7. Dude went to the national media saying he knew he could get at least three firsts before trading the pick. Don’t need to shop deals around when you’re on the record to Peter King about what the price to beat is

  8. I think the trade down is one of the best moves the Bears have made since drafting Urlacher and Tillman, tbh…

Moore is a hell of a player. Fucking stoked that he is a Bear.

  9. Yeah I really don’t like that at all lol. Poles needs to watch the new episode of succession lol

  10. I’m not entirely sure how he’s explaining the way he conducts his negotiating, at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. He seemed to set a price and get the price he was happy with.

But there does seem to be a bit of naivety with him in terms of when he deals with agents or with situations going bad. His comment about the Larry O situation last year for example – that it sucked – still sticks with me as being a little odd.

I’m glad he gives us fans some insight to the process but really at the end of the day it’s the decisions that matter. Hopefully he gets them right!

If he gets too many wrong he’ll get his words twisted to look bad pretty easily.

  11. It’s the right thing to say. Eventually he will be on the other side of the table, and that little bit of currency might help.

  12. I think this is the better move tbh. It makes other GMs get paranoid and outbid themselves because if you go a bit without any talking, they’ll think you’re busy negotiating with another team who has a better offer. Shows you who is desperate and you can use it to your advantage.
