I really think a fixed roof is the only option that makes sense. It’s too hot and humid to play with an open roof even during most night games… it’d solely be for October, and honestly the trapped crowd noise under the roof is a weapon we should lean into. So why add potentially a billion dollars to a project when a fixed roof solves all of our problems with minimal drawbacks?
I don’t think a retractable is even in the cards. Too expensive and would only be open a handful of times a year. This actual rendering looks like a cooling nightmare. The outfield glass is cool and feasible but that roof glass just isn’t an option.
