Salvador Perez is going to wear C on his chest. The #Royals have named the veteran catcher their fourth captain in franchise history today. Joins Mike Sweeney, Frank White and George Brett as the only team captains in club history.

3. His number will almost certainly be retired. Not even Gordo was captain.

   It was honestly already happening, but this should silence any doubt that at the very least Salvy’s number is getting retired and he’ll be in the Royals HOF. I personally think he’s due for a bust in Cooperstown as well but time will tell there.
