  1. ah how i missed the duality of baseball. you win some, you lose some. there’s 162 games, being 3-2 is no big deal. we are “supposed” to lose this game, our 5th versus their ace.

tomorrow we win with Degrom. Heaney had a bad start, it happens. if he has 3 in a row i’ll start to worry

  2. I didn’t get to watch the game because fuck Bally, but by following along thru ESPN, IMO there’s at least some positive takeaways from this game in regards to our bullpen. Heaney’s outing was a big yikes tho

  3. Dane Dunning’s career splits:

    Home – 10-5, 3.36 ERA, 1.2 WHIP, 9.2 K/9

    Away – 1-13, 5.77 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 7.3 K/9

I propose he joins the rotation *but only for home games.*

Anyway, game sucked. Hope Heaney had a blip and not a sign of things to come. Bullpen is fantastic, offense is starting to become a concern.

  4. Now thats the Andrew Heaney I remember. I’m sure he’ll be able to rebound. Oh well. Bullpen looked great once again. Looking forward to seeing deGrom work tomorrow against one the best prospects in the game.

  5. Long, long season boys but let’s enjoy the fact that our infield on defense has looked great. Better than expected I think.

Edit : oh and the bullpen. Hearn and Dunning looked great.

  6. We’ve now seen 229 pitches through 2 games this series. 12.72 per inning. 3.58 per PA. Only 2 walks.

Compare that to Baltimore. 304 pitches seen. 16.89 per inning. 4.22 per PA. 7 walks.

One team is working the count to get their pitch and making the most of it. The other team is trying to hit the cover off the ball on every single pitch. The difference shows on the scoreboard. Some pitches aren’t meant to be hit. Really wanna see this team let some more of those pitches go, fight off good pitches, and work the count until they get something the can handle instead of just taking daddy hacks at whatever the pitcher lobs up there.

  7. Next time I see an orange and black bird im throwing a shoe at it and if I miss im throwing another shoe

  8. I won’t overreact to one bad start. But Dunning could be replacing Heaney soon if this continues. I liked Dunning last season, he’s a perfect 5th guy. We had him last season as a #3 tho
